One night stay with my gorgeous wife - this place is AMAZING! Easy check in, looked after our bags prior to room being ready. The room was perfect with character and style, over looking the church. It was quiet at night and the bed was big, very comfy and spotless. The pub attached is cosy and welcoming with charm and some VERY strong beers! Try it! The chap behind the bar was cool! (Sunday night) Location - perfect Room - perfect Breakfast β¦. never made it (lol) Cleanliness - perfect Staff - perfect Overall - PERFECT Thank you, see you again

I was so excited to stay at The Lace Market Hotel, one of Nottinghamβs so-called best with its Georgian charm. The reception looks great, staff were lovely, and the quirky old lift adds character. But thatβs where it ended. The hallway smelled damp, and my Deluxe Double Room felt hot, musty, and tired. Windows were fogged with condensation and couldnβt be opened. The mattress was lumpy, the sink blocked, skirting chipped, and the bathroom sealant mouldy. You can hear everything, taps, chains, even the guest upstairs using their basin. Great location, but no onsite parking. The Lace Market car park costs Β£16βΒ£19.50 a night, with no hotel discount. Staff were kind and offered breakfast, but no real follow-up or compensation. Beautiful building, but sadly, all shabby, no chic.

We had a fantastic experience enjoying afternoon tea at Lace Market. Everything was freshly made in-house, which really stood out compared to many places that use store-bought items. The scones were a real highlightβfreshly baked and served warm, just as they should be. The service was excellent too, friendly and attentive throughout. A special mention goes to Chef Cristina, who took the time to speak with us and made the experience feel even more personal. Our only feedback would be that in the future it would be wonderful if a savory afternoon tea option was also available. Overall, though, it was an exceptional experience and one weβd be very happy to recommend.

Stayed Friday 25th July - Room 39 On arrival the welcome from the lady was not very professional she did not tell us anything about the hotel, meal arrangements or local area. The room was nice lovely bathroom. It was warm so we opened the secondary glazing only for one pane to fall out. The bar was clean and two staff were very friendly although no one asked if we had enjoyed it. Back in the room late that evening it was very warm but very noisy due to a neighbouring air conditioning unit, so we had to close the windows making the room hotter. Yes there was a fan but that was too noisy to put on. The duvet was far too thick for the summer months with no alternative available. Bed was not a pleasant experience. The coffee machine was downstairs and all the toast and continental items upstairs. Dirty plates were left on the tables even when the staff walked past emptied handed. They ran out of mugs and provided paper vending cups. Again no one asked if anything was okay. Check out was the same not very pleasant lady who merely took the key card without asking how our stay was. This hotel is not 4 star the staff apart from pub staff were very rude and unhelpful.

Lovely hotel, very polite staff from reception to breakfast staff. Beds were comfy and room was clean and tidy. Nice complimentary touches in the room. One suggestion would be to offer sourdough toast for brekkie as it doesn't go soggy and it was a little noisy at pub kicking out time as the pub is downstairs but apart from that a pleasant stay and i would return.

Very average "4" star hotel. Room was very basic with all amenities. Room and bathroom quite dated, bed comfortable and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. The room was quiet considering the location, room temperature was very humid and hot. Used the mini AC unit and opened the window but the room remained an uncomfortable temperature to sleep. The location was spot on though and service polite and welcoming.

I've stayed in every 4*+ hotel in Nottingham and this one is by far the best (and nowhere near the most expensive). They've perfected that luxury coziness, I was here for work but the room had me feeling like I was on my honeymoon!! The breakfast is gorgeous and the staff are lovely. I literally felt like a million bucks, I'm in love with this place & will never stay anywhere else.

Good sized room which had just been refurbished. It has its own pu b attached to it which was friendly and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Only let down was the bedroom radiator and tv didn't work but the very helpful staff brought a fan heater which was more than adequate to heat the room.

stayed in the studio room which was amazing. very clean, modern and loads of space for my little daughter to roam around. bathroom was very spacious. service was excellent and the breakfast was delivered to our room right on time. only downside was that there was quite a bit of noise coming in through the windows at night which made it difficult to sleep. This may have been worse than normal due to us staying on a Saturday night with loads of taxis and people going past at late hours.

What a beautiful hotel in a great location! We were staying as a birthday treat and requested a high up room with a view and were accommodated with a beautiful room on the third floor overlooking a church , on a gorgeous leafy tree lined street. We arrived well before check in as we had asked of it was OK to leave our luggage at reception while we went sightseeing. The lady on reception was so lovely , and on finding out our room was empty , put in a request to housekeeping to clean it first so we could check in early . We returned at 12noon and it was ready for us (some 3 hours before official check in) which we were so grateful for , it's so lovely when people go that extra mile, I didn't catch her name but she was so helpful, friendly and professional - a real asset to the hotel. The room itself was spotless, beautiful and well appointed. The bed was really comfortable, gorgeous original sash windows, loved the pillow choices. I am always happy when there is a fridge in the room so I can have cold drinks and the fact it was a well stocked mini bar was very welcome as its nice to know the option to purchase a drink in your room without room service is always a bonus. Bathroom had everything you could want , shower great! Was surprised as it looked pretty old but it had a fab water pressure. The room was very warm but the ceiling fan and additional fan on the table soon helped with that. The hotel is situated in a quiet street even though its really close to lots of bars and restaurants and is only a short walk to the centre. The bar next door is part of the hotel and serves delicious beer and the staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful stay and will definitely return.
