Go round in circles with no help or guidance whatsoever Typical NHS , pay into the system all you're working life and as soon as you need some help you can't get it

Our first Baby girl was born in Derrifords maternity section on Mother’s Day. The experience I had was amazing. All the midwives and doctors were really supportive and helpful throughout my labor and delivery! I couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience! The post delivery care was also fantastic! All the staff on the Argyll ward were great. Supportive, helpful and super polite! Nothing is too much trouble. Amazing experience from a first time mum!

Bantham ward. Signage unhelpful. Not showing on signage in the lift or the online floor layout. Very disorganised

I had to stay in the maternity ward after c-section. Hated it . It still gives a nightmare ! My few-days old baby was crying her eyes out and a bunch of nurses sat in their office chatting away. Didn't even had the courtesy to let me know ! I would have dragged myself in that pain to feed my girl .I wondered if it was because of colour ! On another incident ,I had to buzz a few times to get painkillers. finally when I was about to faint in pain on my 1st post op week, I was shouted back by this ward HCA. Rude and racist staffs ! Thank goodness, I was young. If it was now, I would have filed a complaint against that hopeless department. But I would thank the consultant gynae who picked up the low fetal HR on time before it was late. Huge difference between people with brain and no-brainers !

Our baby girl was born at Derriford. We received the most wonderful care from everyone (midwives, nurses, doctors, etc.). It has been an exceptional experience and we'll be forever grateful for the support we received.

So far it has never let us down. Always helpful staff. A bit of a wait like in Derriford but I think everyone got used to it. The car park could be a bit bigger at the maternity ward because sometimes there is not enough space to park, but in fact there is no way to enlarge it. For now it is still free
