We didn’t eat here but have been here twice so far. Both times have been wonderful and we will definitely return. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are brilliant. Alice was especially helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. Would highly recommend and will return as soon as possible.

Hockley Arts Club in Nottingham is a really unique and enjoyable spot. I have visited on a few occasions and each time the experience has been great. The interior is one of the standout features – the dark, grunge, and slightly moody aesthetic makes the space feel bespoke and very different from your typical bar. There is an upstairs area as well, which I believe is available for private events, and it adds to the overall charm and versatility of the venue. Because the bar is small and intimate, it can be difficult to get a table when it is busy, especially on weekends. That said, there is bar seating available, so you can still enjoy the atmosphere without a table. The cocktails are nicely crafted, and they also do a very nice cheeseboard, which makes for a great accompaniment to drinks. The location is slightly hidden down an alleyway off the main road, which adds to its exclusivity and makes it feel like a little secret gem in Nottingham. Overall, Hockley Arts Club is small and intimate but very stylish, with good drinks, a unique atmosphere, and a memorable setting. I would definitely recommend visiting if you enjoy a bespoke bar experience.

Group of 8 colleagues in Nottingham for a Radiology conference. We came to the city centre for a meal but decided to get a drink beforehand. My other colleagues have been to this lounge before but it was my first time. Seated promptly and fantastic service from Alice throughout. The Tonkotsu Rum was one of the best drinks I’ve had and I enjoyed the ambiance. I will certainly be returning the next time I am in the area.

Tucked away in the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, Hockley Art Club feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The entrance—through a narrow alleyway and up a short flight of fire stairs—sets the tone for the speakeasy-style experience that follows. Inside, the space exudes old-world charm with its soft, golden lighting from ornate chandeliers and globe lamps, casting a warm glow over deep reds, browns, and blacks that define the room’s rich colour palette. The leather banquette seating, round tables, and high-backed bar stools lend a distinctly mid-century feel, while the polished wooden bar, lined with hanging glasses and metallic accents, anchors the room beautifully. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and sophisticated—part speakeasy, part classic jazz bar—perfect for enjoying craft cocktails, mellow music, and quiet conversation. The décor, from vintage wall lamps to mirrors and wooden floors, ties the whole look together with nostalgic flair. I tried The Night Hawk, which was excellent—well-balanced and perfectly executed. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing that weekends get especially lively, with the crowd often spilling over into the upper level and the adjoining Electric Garden. Although it may not top every “best cocktail bar” list in Nottingham, Hockley Art Club absolutely delivers on atmosphere, service, and drink quality—making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates a stylish, well-crafted evening out.

We visited here as part of Nottingham Cocktail Week and it was one of our favourites so my partner decided she'd like to visit again for some birthday cocktails Great service and great drinks, it's a little pricey but no more than any other good cocktail bar and I feel like you're getting what you pay for so it's still good value

Beautiful variety of cocktails and some cheese boards to munch on. I had lychee spritz and it was amazing. We shared a vegetarian cheese board and spent good time here. Atmosphere is lovely and staff is polite and friendly.
