Beautiful house and area, Also tony was very friendly and got us settled in straight away. your minuets away from various walks and the town shops and pubs. perfect for dog owners!
Absolutely fantastic! Amazing wide beautifully decorated room. Very nice host and yummy English breakfast (including natural orange /grapefruit juice). And a marvellous garden with stunning views to top it all. I wish I could stay more days!
Me and my partner stayed in the Shepherd's hut for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tony (the owner of the house) was very welcoming and greeted us with a lovely cream tea on the day we arrived. After that throughout the stay he was always happy to help with questions about the local area, and took time out to just talk to us making us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and we were asked what we would like for breakfast each day, so it was really personalised for each of us, and was then cooked infront of us. The Shepherd's hut was cosy, clean and the view from the hut was beautiful. We are hoping to go back at some point to explore the area a little more, and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. We didn't feel like we were staying in a BnB because Tony was such a friendly host.
Lovely place to stay, comfortable room, welcomed with a freshly made cream tea. Enormous English breakfast that will keep you going all day. The house is positioned high up on the hill will a beautiful view of the valley and within easy reach of Dartmoor. Would recommend staying here.
Met by the most overwhelming welcome, Garfield House was a treat. Worthy of every penny of the reasonable tariff with Devon Cream Teas on arrival! What more could you ask for when searching for an affordable, luxurious guest house in the foothills of Dartmoor. Easy to find, easy to park, very easy to stay and especially kind to dog-lovers should your best friend be looking for a room for the night too. Breakfast was mighty and fine; altogether Garfield is run superbly well by the very talented musician/hotelier Tony Harley.
