   The locks are set in a picturesque area and form impressive canal architecture. They are manned in busy periods by friendly volunteers who are happy to explain their history and operation. Well worth a look if you are passing by.

   A beautiful walk in a tranquil area surrounded by the joys of nature. Listening to the wildlife and the sound of the water as the boats transverse the waterways. Sometimes meeting many likeminded people who walk or exercise along our historic waterways that built this nation.

   Stunning set of staircase locks. Brilliant volunteers on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (maybe Sundays, not sure). Great for a walk as well as boating. Definitely worth a visit. Lots of nice spots to sit and relax too

   A lovely place for a walk. There is a route which also takes in the disused railway. Be sure to check out the Platform Cafe round the corner too.

   This is a great place to start a walk from. There is a car park next door to the Victorian water pumping house, no charges. In the winter, the towpath gets a bit muddy, so good boots are a must. If you're a dog walker, don't forget the poop bags.

   This is a great place to visit- good fir walking along the tow path and watching the boats. It is very quiet and peaceful. Interesting to see the boats negotiating the lock as it has to be used carefully. Good to have a lock keeper on hand. When we visited there were 2 on duty. The toll House is interesting too! And you can buy small souvenirs of your visit. There is also the victoriana pumping station nearby which shows typical victorian terracotta architecture. Lovely place!
