Previously I went to a few other jewelers in Nottingham for engagement rings and they just weren't what I was looking for. They were chains and honestly the staff just seemed like they wanted to make a sale and that's it. I also didn't like that the rings didn't feel personal. I did a bit of research and found Carolyn Codd and thought I'd give them a look so I popped in and met Carolyn and Danny who were both extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was no pressure at all and Danny helped my partner choose the perfect diamond. My partner had second thoughts about the first diamond she chose and later chose a different one and there was no fuss from Danny or Carolyn about it, they were very accommodating. After the diamond was chosen, I came back a few times to discuss everything else as I wanted the design to be a surprise. Danny went over my ideas with me and jotted down his design notes and went to work. I received the design and made a suggestion for a slight change and the second design I received was pure perfection. The team went to work on the ring and when I received it I my partner would love it, and she did! She said yes and absolutely loves the ring. My partner and I will definitely be coming back for our wedding rings and recommend Carolyn Codd to anyone looking to have a nice bespoke engagement ring. Thank you for everything!
An absolutely incredible and totally personal experience working with Rhianna and Danny at Carolyn Codd on my bespoke engagement ring and wedding band and my husband's wedding band. Rhianna immediately put us both at ease, making anything feel possible. We'd visited other jewellers that day who has made us feel that our ideas weren't possible or were out of price range. We came away knowing that this was the jewellers that we wanted to make our rings and confident that we'd work with Rhianna to design something totally unique that we loved. Rhianna came back to us after just a few days with some draft designs and over the next few weeks was so patient with our many tweaks and suggestions for evolution of the design, incorporating so many personalised hidden elements. The final design was just perfect. Once we'd finalised the engagement ring design, Rhianna suggested a way that I could incorporate my grandma's gold wedding band in to my matching platinum and diamond wedding band, again personalised in such a beautiful way. Danny did an incredible job in making both rings so beautifully on a tight turnaround. They looked exactly as I had envisioned. He even made my husband's ring a week before the wedding at short notice. Absolutely incredible service and amazing craftmanship. Thank you so much.
My engagement ring broke beyond all repair and so had to be remade. The team here were amazing! They were honest throughout when it came to discussing the issues with my original ring, recreated my ring exactly as my original and were able to put a protective platinum sleeve around my wedding ring so I still have my original ring next to my new engagement ring. They understood the sentimentality behind these rings and were just great at every step. I wouldn't go anywhere else now! Thank you so much!
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Before visiting Carolyn Codd, the thought of buying jewellery for my partner felt like a minefield, and I struggled to understand what to look out for and how to choose. However, from the moment I first visited here I needn’t have worried. A huge thank you to Rhianna and the team for arranging an engagement ring at very short notice. A real family affair - every step I felt well informed and valued, with the end result of a brilliant timeless ring and matching necklace for my fiancée. We will be back!
Thank you for all you did. Nothing was too much trouble. Even with all my crazy ideas. From the first meeting when I asked if you could help me to surprise Amy, firstly by try the ring on and secondly sizing her finger, all in a way so she does not know it will be our engagement ring. I have a local business myself; I know using the best independent retailers gets you the quality, service and skills that the big high street shops cannot offer. This is very true in this case. My plan was to ask Amy to marry me on Easter Sunday. Amy had never done an Easter egg hunt before so perfect way ... I thought. Chocolate utopia Nottingham where amazing making me two eggs that fitted inside each other and space for the ring box in side. The inside egg simply said marry me. Only thing I need was a location which I found on the shores of Loch Ness in an Old Monastery converted to self-catering apartments, using the website and google I was able to plan an egg hunt without Amy knowing. Everything went perfectly. But your help did not stop there as I wanted a bespoke wedding ring. Which you took my idea and ran with it. Making the two rings perfectly join with a Celtic knot that joins the two rings to form a heart working across both rings and individually perfectly. You are a true artisan.
We have had a number of pieces custom made by Danny at Carolyn Codd over the past decade. We even had a diamond ring remade so that all of our jewellery is official Carolyn Codd. The service we continue to receive is absolutely five star and the finished product is always something to be shown off and cherished.
