Booked online for my 12 week old Shihtzu to have a puppy groom as his hair is long around his eyes and face needed trimming. His vaccines lapted with the breeder so is awaiting his second vaccine. Looked through all terms and conditions and the restriction was 12 weeks of age. Paid the £15 deposit and travelled 19 miles to the nearest store, (38 miles round trip) to be told as he has not had second vaccines he cannot be seen and refused to see him. Refused to refund the deposit as apt was booked despite them refusing the apt when we turned up. Phoned Pets@Home customer services who were very helpful as no where (to date) does it state all dogs must be fully vaccinated, Customer services agreed and advised the store to refund my deposit. Let down by the groom room and does lead me to question their cleanliness and disinfecting polices as the pup should be sat on a clean table? with a clean trimmer so not hard. Need to update their terms and conditions and restrictions on their website!

Not the best of experiences. Friendly staff, however I don't feel my dog gets a good wash, as she still has her harness on and it's dry! And on two occasions, they say they are unable to trim her nails. Not cheap neither.

Took my dog there today for a groom and for a de-shed. The amount of tufts remaining on his rear was awful, I was pulling it out in clumps. Also they weren’t able to trim nails. On previous visits they’ve also not been cut. Only up side was this time they knocked some money off, for not having done his nails. Tried to contact them about not being happy with his coat, but was engaged every time.

Was perfect with my nervous dog about getting his claws cut, he just needed reassuring with a cuddle which they were more than happy to do. Very happy and will definitely be taking him back there

We took our Springer puppy here for his first groom on Wednesday. They were very friendly and were happy to add some bits on at the last minute. Impressed at the fact they didn’t steal him, however much they wanted too. He came out looking great, plenty of care and attention taken and were happy to put the extra bit of effort in to make sure his training was kept up, and started the process off training him that little bit more for future grooms. We came here and took advantage of a 50% off the first groom, which made it very cheap for the service. They of course rely on the fact you’ll continue to use them, and although it wasn’t planned for him to carry on going there, we will be taking the extra effort in driving further for us for him to continue going once a month. Nothing particularly bad to say, gave a good estimate of the time it’d take and had him ready within a couple of minutes of his collection time. Reasonable costings and of course handy being part of Pets at Home so shopping can be done at the same time. Great advice on home grooming too!
