Newstead and Annesley Country Park are fair size, it has a lake and a windmill. People can swim in the lake, there is a car park nearby and you bring your own kids to the park. You can ride a motor bike. It's ok to visit

Great little country park which is somewhat connected to newstead abbey which is a 15 minute walk away from annesley country park the park does have 7 ponds which one is used by people fishing and is quite a popular great walk for any dog walkers and people that enjoy bird watching. ( Also beware of people riding horses which I've never seen but there are loads of marks on the trails made with horse shoes) Also you can get up close to a windmill which is in the park too. It would also be a great place for a picnic but there aren't many areas to sit on the ground as the trails are often muddy. But overall it's a must if you want to visit the newstead abbey.

Lovely place to walk round and get some fresh air. Plenty of room for dogs to have a run around but do recommend leaving dogs on leads until in empty space.

Lovely scenic paths, large pond, beautiful geese families and the freshest of air. A must see if you take dogs out or would like some peace. Just note that there's no toilets on site.

Fabulous place day and night. Just a shame about the disrespectful people that have no interest in using the lovely new bins provided. Since this place has been put on Facebook and other companies and charities got involved it has gone downhill. I’ve been going here for over 20 years. And I don’t agree with the picnic benches that got put in the barn owl hunting field either. How are they going to cope with people, children and dogs etc sat up there!! That is pushing the wildlife further away….

My mum and I have been walking here for years and we love it. The air is very clear. It can be quite bleak on grey days but it's still a nice walk. When there are any kind of clouds reflected in the lakes, it's absolutely beautiful. There are benches if you need to sit down. You'll need decent shoes (ideally ones you don't care about!) if it's been raining or snowing since there's only a proper path around the first fishing lake. The rest is all dirt trails. Parking is also free. The only downside is that more and more of the park is being fenced off, but it's to protect the wildlife, so it's just a shame people aren't more respectful. The visitor centre has never been completed which is a shame as well. It's a lovely park with interesting history and it'd be worth showing it off in a visitor centre.

Been waiting to visit here since the lockdown began and a perfect day also, i came down from Birmingham for a beautiful day out, the country park is so impressive and so beautiful, it reminded be of the Netherfield Lagoons but this place has a huge wind turbine which is breathtaking impressive I've been wanting to see one close up ever since they started doting up on the landscape, i want one in my back garden

Lovely area for dog walking. The big lake has had signs up discouraging dog walkers from going down to the lake which is a shame. There is definitely no harm and my dogs love swimming! There is always horse prints on the ground so just be wary of possible riders.
