It's Kokoro so obviously the food is consistently tasty. However, I literally can't think of any reason why you'd go to this branch versus the one 5 minutes away on North St, which is a larger premises with better seating, better staffed and better service. At the other premises when buying the cold sushi/bento it never seems like you are stuck behind deliveroo riders or people ordering hot food in a large queue. I cant say the same for the Western Road branch.

My reviews on this restaurant is really mixed, Don’t get me wrong the food is amazing i could eat have the same thing from here lunch through dinner, But the staff? Is disgusting, constant attitude, snarky replies. I normally get my usual the sweet chilli chicken with a side of rice or noodles which is actually divine by the way! i went with one of my little cousins and my little brother, since schools out i’m still trying to teach them about money so i gave them each £20 and let them spend it accordingly. My little cousin who was getting served was ordering, my brother that quite literally doesn’t know any better because he’s still quite young says i haven’t ordered yet the women goes wait a minute!! can’t you see i’m serving someone else and scoffs her attitude really made my appetite go and really blew off my whole day. These places need to train their workers better.

Nice food. I would definitely go back. A good selection. It's all just in the fridge or deli counter so can't really give it 5* atmosphere as I took the food to eat on a nearby wall! But the food hit the spot!

Had a quick lunch takeaway from Kokoro today and went for my usual favourite – chicken teriyaki with egg fried rice. Solid choice as always! The chicken was tender with just the right amount of sticky sweetness, and the rice was perfectly fluffy with a hint of wok-char. Hits the spot when you need something filling, fast, and flavourful. Consistently reliable comfort food.

Wear 2 pairs of socks before you eat this food cause it will knock at least 1 pair off. The food in here I can only describe I wish was served at my wedding. Best take out food and if you're going to get anything get teriyaki chicken and sweet chilli chicken with noodles. The shop is small and the staff are fast so it's easy to beast through here

Used to be value for money but the prices went up drastically and although food is good it is not as well made as before

Absolutely dire, service terrible, staff had no interest in serving customers instead chatting with their friends that came in. Food quality bad, rice very over cooked and watery, chicken is poor quality. Avoid! Much better options than this now.

My first experience with Kokoro was disappointing. The staff clearly need more training. They didn't seem to know what they were doing, were on a walkie-talkie getting advice, and took ages. My seafood udo noodles were cold and my wife's prawn katsu curry and rice was stodgy. She couldn't finish it. Won't be going back.

The newly opened restaurant staff clearly need more training - the noodles weren't heated up and were dry and the rice had a pool of undrained water in the tub. Chicken was undercooked pink inside. I will goto the north st branch next time.

I have ordered from here off Deliveroo and walked in as well. Lovely little Japanese take out place. They have prepared sushi off to the side, and hot items behind the counter. There is very little seating here, but the food is super fresh and tasty. The folks behind the counter were very nice to deal with as well!
