Best pub vegan burger I have had, I went for the moving mountains plant based one, lovely and moist. My friend enjoyed her nut roast. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great country pub. Good prices, especially since I'm from London where many of the pubs are expensive and not great food. If I was local I'd definitely be here all the time.

Went here with my mum and my small dog. It's a nice country pub with selection of food and drinks. We were happy with these and the customer service. It wasn't a warm day but they have a cute garden area so as well as being dog friendly, has a car park, nice country pub atmosphere we were pleased and will return when passing there.

A lovely pub with a great garden and friendly service. Local beers including Long Man and Harvey's on tap. I believe they also had Ascension Cider which is a must try.

Stopped for a meal after a walk nearby. The service was great, really friendly staff and the south downs cider on tap was fantastic. Had a great steak thay was cooked perfectly and lots of options on the menu. The pub has a lovely cosy feel but the restaurant area and toilets could have been a bit cleaner, there were some dead bugs and food on the curtains. Nice garden out the back for warmer days.

Quick service in this busy pub. Generous portion sizes and food hot and of a good quality. Pizzas look amazing. Steaks good

After a long walk from Brighton on a grey day in February we walked into this fantastic pub, we had a table by the fire, pints of Harvey's, Pork belly bites to start (fabulous). I had the Steak and Kidney Pudding (wonderful) and followed all this with a treacle sponge with custard (oh my god....) The only bad part was leaving this pub.. There is no way I won't be going back soon

Went here today after many years. Food was excellent and delicious, price was good for the quality and quantity of food, although would have paid more. Staff were friendly, young, welcoming and on the ball, thank you. Fire lit, a cosy, comfortable place, great ambience. Seated in a beautiful booth overlooking the garden. Took a friend, both of us needed something special and we got it here. Thank you all.

I’ve been a local for nearly a decade but the new management and make over is a fantastic change. Had my first Sunday Roast under the new look and my goodness…easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Lamb was perfectly cooked and tasted great, lovely to have homemade Yorkshires back and a great selection of seasonal veg; well seasoned and fresh. Massive serving so will suit those on long walks over The Downs or those with a sofa and board game closer to home for the rest of the afternoon. Ask at the bar for a pack of card or the Cribbage board!! I’ve been in for lunch a few times recently with family and the new Burger Night on Mondays. Really enjoying the new style, friendly atmosphere and will happily work my way through the menu with friends and family while showing them the new decor and of course the open fire this time of year. Would highly recommend anyone to come sample the new look Abbo asap, especially if last time wasn’t your best experience. I’d also book in advance as it was packed out this whole weekend which is great to see considering it was Bonfires Night and appalling weather! Chris & Daisy and their team really have cracked it. Well done to all.

Very nice decor and freshly opened. It was busy when our group arrived but the helpful staff told us that there was space outside in the sunshine. The food was excellent and sensibly priced with a nice selection of ales.

Stopped here with our dog for food and drinks on our way back from camping. The staff were very welcoming and polite. I tried a pint of Guinness & a Dark Star, both of which were good. To eat, I had the Rump Steak with Skinny Fries with salad and peppercorn sauce and it was all excellent. The steak was maybe a little chewy but had a fantastic flavour and I enjoyed it very much.
