I come here for pool occasionally, but after my last visit I honestly canβt understand how this place is still running. It was ridiculously hot inside like a sauna so I opened the back door for some air. Apparently, that was enough to set off the bar staff, because the girl behind the bar stormed over and started shouting at me as if I was causing chaos. Completely unprofessional, completely unnecessary, and completely out of order. And then the ownerβs reply? βThe door should be kept closed at all times.β Seriously? Instead of acknowledging how badly their staff acted, they double down with a rule that makes the place feel like an oven. Maybe if they spent less time lecturing customers and more time fixing the temperature or training their staff not to explode over nothing people might actually enjoy being there. To top it off, they advertise free pool on Thursdaysβ¦ except it wasnβt free. So between the false advertising, the attitude, and the sauna conditions, this place is honestly a joke. The only thing on tap at this tavern is disappointment

I had a delicious fish n chips with a couple of pints, (of course!). The staff were lovely and friendly and happy for me to stay in my campervan overnight. Very dog friendly with a tin of treats on the bar. Thereβs also a small beer garden with a great view! Whatβs not to love? Thank you, Tavern at Telscombe. I shall definitely be back.

No regrets very enjoyable experience. After a short walk along the cliff top from Howard Park on a very blustery day. A group of 8 of us dropped in to the Tavern without a booking to have some lunch. This turned out not to be a problem for the husband and wife team who run the sizeable venue. We were entertaining distant relatives from Dubai. From the menus 6 of us choose beer battered fish and chips 1 childβs macaroni/ cheese and 1 gammon steak with fried eggs. The food was delivered together all very well presented and good size portions all hot- what more could you ask for. Reasonably priced. Well done the staff. The venue has a very mixed taste decor. Seating was basic along with the cutlery and napkins. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. The top section at rear was the quietest area. Music was fairly loud around the bar. Pool table and darts are available. Animal friendly. Outside old style picnics tables restrict the elderly from using. As you have to lift your leg over bench to get properly seated. Special evening bargain menus available weekdays. Plenty free parking on site. A good to have local to satisfy most tastes. Would return.

Really good experience at the Tavern Telscome Cliffs. The food was excellent value for money and was very nice. Staff were very helpful. They have live music in the evening and just a really good vibe. The garden to the rear has a beautiful view over the coastline. Brilliant pub! They also offer camervan stop overs and we did this. The car park is on a slope but was fine with leveling chocks! Will definitely return!

Unfortunately! The review regards Fish and Chips is not correct. Worst fish and chips EVER! FISH WAS MUSH. Not fresh at all, chips rubbish not hot, peas cold. Did not complain, as was in motorhome parked for night. Left all the rubbish food and went to chip shop up the road. Gordon Ramsay would have had a lot to say about the food. However the bar staff were excellent. Shame. And yes to the owner, I should have sent food back. But the owner must have known how bad was in the first place????

Nice pub, very friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Easy wheelchair access which could do with a sign as there are several entrances.

Popped into this pub for the first time, great welcoming atmosphere. Very nice pool table, loved the roast dinner. Thanks to Sarah behind the bar who couldn't have been more accommodating and to Ryan the head chef who came out and said hi and asked how our meal was. Really nice place and people, we will be back for the roasts, pints of Guinness and games of pool. Thank you.

Stopped for lunch today, four of us and the food was very good, roasts and Mediterranean tart. Only problem was that as the pub was almost empty the bar was unattended for long periods of time, I was waiting to be served for longer than expected twice, presumably as there is not enough trade to have more than one person behind the bar. Someone came out from the kitchen, saw me waiting and disappeared back into the kitchen! Perhaps a bell is needed for situations like this.
