Visited for a roast. Enjoyed the food. The service not so much. The person serving us had a chip on their shoulder, for reasons unclear. Though the other staff I spoke to were really friendly and helpful. Overall, it's a nice pub and I would recommend if you're looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday!

Mushroom wellington was a bit stodgy and fell apart. The pastry over the top just fell to bits. Didn't hold very well. Not much to taste but the earthy strong mushrooms. The whole almonds was also a sharp contrast to the rest of the dish. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt and inedible. My partner barely touched this dish in general. In hindsight we should have given feedback immediately to the bar staff. My mixed roast dish was mostly good, especially the smoked turkey pastrami, the parsnips and surprisingly, the broccoli. However, the roast potatoes were also inedible. I'd give it 3.5 if I could. Didn't quite get the 4 stars that I would have liked. Book ahead if you want a seat

I visited the Pelham arms as part of a large group for a Sunday Roast. The service and food were excellent. There was a choice of four meats and two vegetarian options. They were serving a lunch menu, too. The gluten free roast was exceptional. The staff are always really helpful. Canβt rate this place enough. Thank you, Pelham Arms.

Really great place, thought the food choice were really good and not the run of the meal both pub menus. The food was also really good, 8 of use had 7 different menus items and every single person was really happy with their food. Not rushed at all and great staff as well.

3 of us came here yesterday for a post-hike roast and beer. They have their own range of craft beer, and a good selection of real ale. I had one of the 3 veggie roast options. It was fantastic. The Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, swede/sweet potato mash and gravy were absolutely in the top 5 roasts I've had. My friends had the lamb shoulder and chicken. They both said it was seriously good. We didn't have room for dessert but the options looked decent both on the menu and on other diners tables. The bar staff were knowledgeable about the beers and whoever was chef knows how to cook well. Absolutely recommend a Sunday Roast here!

Great Christmas menu, with particularly good vegan and veg options. A good choice if you have specific dietary needs. We were a table of 9, ranging in age from 95 to 1, and we all ate well. My warm puy lentil salad was so interesting and had enjoyable contrasts of flavour and texture. Friendly and attentive service, in spite of staff illness, which put them under pressure. We will be back.

Best veggie wellington Sunday lunch! Nice old pub in Lewes, small beer garden, easy parking opposite, friendly team, amazing chef.

A lovely family meal out. Attentive and super chatty staff made our evening. Knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Gorgeous burgers and the chips were well fried. Always a true test of a restaurant- if their chips are up to scratch! 10/10
