Booked the outdoor tent/gazebo for my son's 21st birthday meal. Brought 20+ family members and was expecting at least one member of Bhurtpore staff to be allocated to the event but this wasn't the case. Bar drinks had to be purchased and collected inside with no option of a waiting service. The tent was partially used as storage of chairs and had one heater which meant most people ate wearing jumpers, hats and coats. Food was generally good but tepid by the time it arrived. Surely when you charge hundreds of pounds to hire a tent for a meal outside you would expect it to be warm and have staffing but this was not the case. The decor, food and seating in the tent is OK but we felt forgotten about when compared to the regular diners who were sat in the warm Pub and hadn't paid extra for the privilege. Inside the Pub it was warm, inviting and staff lovely. With a little more attention to detail this could have been a much better experience for a family celebration.

This was our first time here since the refurb. Wow! What a change!! Love, love, love the new decor and open plan, but also snug feel. The food was absolutely fabulous and was quite clearly cooked freshly. We were very impressed. Service was amazing. The staff were friendly and polite and happy to engage in conversation. Service was also fast and efficient - 10/10. We have already booked to return on 1st Nov and will be bringing friends with us. ❤️

Good service and atmosphere and facilities. Extra car parking available if necessary. Sorry, but the 3 meals were average for presentation and taste. We were asked if we required extra condiments and were presented with a plastic bottle of mayonnaise!

well first visit since change of ownership and I have to say what an abject failure this place has become. beer still good and plenty of variety but sadly only positive. The food however was appalling. how can someone from a professional kitchen think it's ok to serve burnt offerings. my wife ordered a chicken burger that came looking like a piece of coal with a chicken wing looking positively fossilised. we mentioned to our waitress (not her fault) who suggested she would pass our feedback to the chef. Having waited a while to see whether anything would be done to rectify the situation my - by then - hungry wife picked off the lava crust and reluctantly ate the dry chicken. when the waitress cleared our plates I enquired about the response from the kitchen upon which she informed me that the chef had said 'he would do it better next time!' Anyway lesson learnt is that i won't return, as a place who can't master the deep fat frier isn't worth anyone's custom. A point of context is that there were only about 6 diners in at the time so it wasn't like the kitchen was overrun. post manager response edit: In order to inform other guests who may consider coming here I feel that I should offer some facts in reply: Firstly there is a distinct difference between crispy and burnt (photo clearly demonstrates this) plus at no point were we offered a replacement wing nor any attempt to rectify any aspect of our order. it's a shame that poor customer service is reinforced by the management team and claim that the chefs are talented yet cannot reheat a fairly easy meal correctly. I would strongly suggest you avoid this place as profit is clearly put in front of basic customer service!

Finally managed to get here and what a great experience and pub! Simon and Nicky the owner's made me feel so welcomed and got me a table in the rear dining area for a sit down with my pint and a meal. The menu was amazing and the curry selection was excellent but having had a curry a few days ago, I went for the recommended "Beef lasagna" with crusty garlic baguette slices and a freshly, marinated salad...wow! This was one of the best Beef lasagna's ever... Highly recommend this pub and restaurant and the staff were amazing along with Simon and Nicky! A big shout out to you all and thanks for such a great experience. Such a pity I live so far away otherwise I would make it one of my regular stops most definitely!

Had a lovely lunch at this real ale pub. It has a good menu with lots of choice, lovely specials and a fab choice of curries. We sat surounded by the History of Bhurtpore and the pub. First class ale and food. Friendly staff. Has lots of seating both indoors and out. Will definitely return.

Been coming here for about 15 years now and it never fails to rank as one of my favourite pubs/restaurants. Firstly the choice of beer is fantastic, if you are a real ale drinker or a craft beer fan and enjoy German/Belgian beers then this place will be to your liking. The staff are lovely in there and the pub has a nice old world vibe to it. Lastly, the food is very and if you like curries then you have to try one from here as they are really good and a few good choices. Shoulder of lamb is amazing also. Worth a visit for drink or for food.
