I have lived in the village for 26 years and frequented both the Oak and the Railway ever since Tracey and Dave have had the pubs. Tonight was unbelievable! I had friends and family from London and Canada staying and weeks ago tried to book a table in the Oak and were told table bookings were not allowed and accepted this. We got into the Oak at 2.00 with all our friends to ensure we had a table. PAULA (the un friendly Elf) told us the table was reserved!?. We put up some resistance as we were told by both the Oak & Railway & Tracey reservations were not a thing. PAULA then refused to serve me! UNBELIEVABE!!!! In fact as I stood at the bar she walked up to me 3 times and said "SHAME" and walked to someone else to serve them. Tracey, I will bring this up to you in person, as I have never received such bad customer service!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!

Nice pub with a good beer selection, pleasant garden and decent little darts area to boot.

This is a nice little village pub. Staff are quite nice and it has a decent beer garden They don't serve any food though but there's a chippy next door but only open for a couple of hours at the weekend

This is one of our current locals. Drinks are quite reasonably priced for the time. There is a fish and chip shop next door where you can purchase good food. They have pop-up food stalls on a regular basis from outlets like the bucket list. Look out for others. I believe they are on a Tuesday and possibly other days.

A great traditional pub. Open every day until late. Large car park. Two real ales on when I visited. Different areas of the pub have different vibes.

It's lovely clean and tidy with nice enclosed garden at back with friendly staff and my Tribute ale was spot on at 4£ a pint

Some of the most attentive and loveliest staff you’ll ever meet. The food here is nice too.

Was slightly underwhelmed on first walking in based on the reviews I had read however, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and brilliant value for money. Way better than your average pub food but not pretentious or trying to capture the high end gastro market. Car park is next to chip shop, not obvious if you are driving down the hill with pub on your right. Although clearly signed if driving up the hill. Good selection of real ales.

Great pub, absolutely charming landlady and staff. this pub really cares about its place in the community, and is welcoming to visitors as well as locals. Excellent range of ales too. Try the Young's London Stout or one of the other guest ales. Food is supposed to be good (I have not eaten here but will). Also got a cosy tearoom serving nice cakes and teas.
