   I can't believe I had been living so close to this beautiful welcoming pub for so long without going in! Myself and a friend have popped in twice for a cup of tea the last two weeks and have been made to feel really welcome. The attention to detail in how things have been put together is beautiful. This morning we timed it right to try try one of the fruit scones straight out of the oven. Baked fresh daily in the kitchen, It didn't disappoint! I didn't order any alcohol but there looked like lots of choices available. There's a room to the side with some board games and a beautiful giant table. There is seating round the back for dry sunny days. You can easily spend a good few hours socialising with friends or quietly doing some work in the corner, I would feel comfortable visiting alone. There is a car park just a short walk away if you are visiting by car which offers two hours free parking. The local bus also stops close by. There are local walking routes to head off on or it would make a perfect end to your days walking. If you've been thinking of popping in I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

   We went to The Angel last night at the recommendation of friends who came with us to share the evening, having enjoyed the platters so much on a prior occasion. We were able to enjoy our evening at a secluded table at the back of the pub, enabling us to chat freely. We had pre ordered a fish and meat platter..When Frank brought out the platter we were amazed at the superb presentation and quantity of superb food. We have enjoyed many platters during our travels but this far exceeded our expectations. Frank then proceeded to explain the local source of each item. He then brought out warm, home made sour dough rolls in the shape of an ear or wheat ro break off and enjoy with the platter. We had chosen the fish selection, every item was absolutely delicious! We accompanied the meal with crafted beer, wine and gin, all excellent. Service was super friendly and excellent. We highly recommend!, not to be missed.

   We had an amazing ploughman’s lunch today. The bread was homemade as was the coleslaw. The onions were pickled in balsamic vinegar which were delicious. I had a lovely local cheese and my husband had a local ham. The butter was free a local farm. Well worth the money. Also a very friendly pub. Very well done.

   Some decent ales at reasonable prices. Good atmosphere under new ownership. If you did a set menu breakfast with beans and decent cola for less than 17 quid though I'd be over again and again for that.

   What a gem of a find The Angel turned out to be! Under new ownership, and currently being developed further, we ate a lovely, locally sourced, breakfast. The team was very friendly, and couldn’t do enough for us. Even the dog enjoyed one of the “dog sausages”. We will definitely be back. Thank you, and the very best of luck in your new venture!
