Really lovely pub, absolutely brilliant bar staff, all really friendly and helpful. Food was high quality, reasonably priced, and really cautious about allergies, particularly gluten free. Lovely atmosphere, will definitely be coming back soon!

*** Despite being told it was being resolved it has not been, my appeal has been refused and they are still chasing the money. So ignore the owners comment below it has been resolved - it hasn't *** ** Update - Parking ticket situation now being resolved. Will update further on completion of resolution ** This is a retrospective review whilst i am appealing a parking ticket received at the pub. I am appealing due to the fact I was a paying customer for the pub. We spent over £30 on 2 meals, is this not enough money spent. We happened to drive past and chose to come in and spend our money there. The car parking states in large letters 'Customer Parking Only', we were customers. We weren't encouraged by staff to enter a reg number in a machine as in other pubs or remind us to pay parking as it was clear we were new customers. Very poor. We had s lovely day visiting the area picking pumpkins, guess we won't be visiting a money grabbing area again. Not a good message to be giving out. The whole thing now leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Really nice pub with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and always up for a chat, and the food is great — proper pub classics done well. Prices are fair, and it’s a lovely spot to spend an afternoon with friends or family. Would happily go back!

It's a shame because this pub is actually really nice. Great service from the staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere.... But the drinks are grossly overpriced and ruin it. £6 for a Guinness. Almost £7 for a Morreti. It would be my main pub if it wasn't for these insane prices. But there's a Green King pub directly opposite with actual sensible prices. You're essentially handing customers over to the competition.

We called here as I had a voucher come through the door with 30% off main meals. We had never been here so decided to try the place and was pleasantly surprised. The food is decent and the bill was very good. It was a Monday so they had a quiz on which was good fun and my partner had some cocktails. The food itself is good and we will go back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local restaurant/pub and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The ambiance of the establishment was warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, always willing to go above and beyond to make sure that my dining experience was a pleasant one. The food was exceptional, with a menu that offered a diverse range of options to suit everyone's tastes. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and each dish was beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the steak, which was cooked to perfection and served with a delicious red wine sauce. The pub also had a great selection of drinks, with a wide range of beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant/pub to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Whether you're looking for a night out with friends, a romantic date, or a family dinner, this establishment is sure to exceed your expectations. The combination of great food, drinks, and entertainment make it the perfect destination for a memorable night out.

We popped in here for a meal whilst spending a few days in Swansea. The food is general pub grub but very tasty. I have Coeliac Disease so can’t eat gluten, barley or rye and there was plenty of choice to choose from but best of all they serve gluten free chocolate fudge cake which was an absolute treat. We all really enjoyed our food and wouldn’t hesitate in returning.

A great place for a meal with friends. I had an evening meal at the Black Boy yesterday with 4 friends. COVID measures were in place, we signed in for track & trace, orders were placed from the table etc. It was quite busy but I could see where the staff had spread out the customer groups so that we weren't close to others. It would have been nice to have it more clearly explained when being seated that drinks were ordered via the online system with food orders taken by staff - there was a bit of confusion but, the few staff members we could see were clearly working flat out. The couple of staff members that we dealt with were lovely and all 5 meals were brought out quickly. Food was fantastic! I was the only veggie so ordered the vegan mushroom pasta. I'm often disappointed with the portion sizes with vegetarian options but that wasn't the case here. (see pic) I had ordered a side of chips but ended up sharing them with friends because the portion size of my meal was spot on. Everything was delicious, we all cleared our plates. Sports was being shown so that did make it a bit noisy, it didn't bother us at all (actually added to the atmosphere) but it would make me reluctant to take the kids if it was a game night. A lovely evening overall & I'll happily go back again.
