Had such a fun night celebrating my friends birthday. Food was lovely and drinks excellent value for a Friday night. Service was top notch considering very busy with large tables for Christmas nights out. Thank you so much Naomi for looking after us. But all the staff there are a delight and always smiling. Great team.
Went in and was seated straight away without reservation. Very good waiting staff. Not the best Sunday lunch I’ve had, roast beef was good, the accompanying veg average and need to improve on the roast potatoes as they were bland, and dry. Will try again if passing on a Sunday. Was very busy though which shows they are popular .
On the surface, an oldie world pub, owned and managed by Greene King, that has sat at the centre of Drayton for over 100 years. On the inside, its a pub whos majority customer base are as old as the pub, sat loudly talking and knocking back gin and tonics like they are lemonades. The servers seemed to not be familiar with the whole idea of their job role within a pub. After the lunch 'rush' they seemed to vanish. After our meal, I ordered a white decaf americano. Instead I got a white cappuccino. Now, this would have been no drama, if they had admitted their mistake, instead the server attempted to argue with me and my friend claiming she had heard me say cappuccino. Also had the locals staring daggers at us as we left. Parking also required entering into a tablet N.F.N.
Have visited this pub a few times now- never sure why it’s so quiet, it’s such a nice pub, lots of table and chairs, and roast dinner is best I can find in the area. Always has nice music playing, shame it doesn’t get busier. Good to find a pub which does peroni, £6.60 a pint which I guess is a little in high side but pretty much the norm now.
Absolutely fantastic Greene King pub in Drayton! Plenty of parking (remember to enter your reg at the tablet inside). Decor is lovely, my partner really rated it! Plenty of seating on a Saturday in the 6 weeks holidays. Food was spot on for the price and served very quickly! Prawns were full of flavour, sausage and mash was bang on and highly recommend the special cheesecake. Will 100% visit again!
The food and service at the Red Lion was fantastic. The menu offers a wide variety of tempting dishes, ranging from traditional to light bites and scrumptious desserts, all at a good price. Gluton free menu options too. Atmosphere was chilled and relaxing. Disabled ♿ friendly toilet but beware of a step up to it .Free car park (register details inside) and garden with smoking area also. Highly recommend that you visit for a enjoyable experience.
This pub is really nice since being refurbished, It's a lot brighter inside. Wasn't sure what to expect as this was the 1st time going since the carvery had been removed. I was pleasantly surprised though. The menu had a good selection and it wasn't too pricey either. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Will certainly go again.
Avoid! This was a child’s meal the second time it was bought out. The first time I said I didn’t think the chicken was cooked and they took it back. Clearly popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds and bought it back. Really hoping I don’t have a poorly child for Christmas as I noticed quickly but disgusting that this was allowed out from the kitchen not only once but twice!
Came here on a Tuesday evening for a change to the Mon-Fri grind and to have a lovely meal out. Such a great evening. We both had pies and they were huge and really tasty. Super friendly service. So nice to get out midweek. My partner had a crumble and custard, which he wolfed down and really enjoyed. Great prices - deal on the pies was 2 for around £14. Will definitely return!
It has been 40 years since we last visited the Red Lion, it has changed considerably, from a village local to a village restaurant and pub. It is bright and inviting but has lost a little of the cosiness. We were there for a family meal and, whilst the family ordering was a nightmare (the family not the ordering) Jess was fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and she smiled throughout. All of the staff were fab, the food was not bad, my medium steak was overdone and my mother's hunters chicken did look a little dry but they got the food out together and it was hot and well presented. We had a fab time, thank you
