Huge menu, had a great Strak and Kidney Pudding followed by an amazing Crunchie sundae. Staff were friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Fantastic family pub with lots of options, set menus and a massive choice on drinks. The food portions are huge and the staff are really friendly. Ample parking space and has also a beer garden. Recommend The Railway to anyone visiting Wymondham!

Good food, with large portions. Ordered ahead, so food was brought out quickly. Went with a party of 10 and all food came out at roughly the same time and hot. Starter and main were brought out at the same time but that was fine. Nice place for a pub lunch.

It was OK. Not a great beer selection & the available brews were expensive. Friendly staff & generous portions of food.

READ BEFORE BOOKING!! Would like to start with the fact this pub has a 4 star rating which is crazy in my opinion as we wished we never went. We booked for about 14 people for someoneβs birthday and pre ordered the food, which youβd like to think the food would be the best standard they can offer. There was about 4 of us who ordered the roast and it was exactly the same as a microwave meal from a co-op. Other peopleβs food again was watery and bland and more than half of us swapped meals to try them, If you want microwave meals then this is your place. We wanted to make a complaint but didnβt want to ruin the family members birthday. We are people that donβt exactly expect 5* food from a pub and are not βKarenβsβ but we expect to at least get food that isnβt from a microwave. High prices for food and drink, staff seemed okay but things definitely need to be revamped in the kitchen, totally overrated would never recommend!!!!

Not good at all. Last minute booking, however when we got there only two other tables were occupied, which is fine but they located our table (group of six) to huddle around a small table next to the toilet door which had a freezing draft, also when we got our mains which arrived in huge plates and side plates we struggled for space. We asked about adding a table onto ours, but couldn't do so because of blocking the toilet, they offered to move to another table but that was a little too late and inconvenient. The food was terrible. Starters: nacho chips were stale. And the melted cheese was cold. However the sauces were nice. Garlic bread was good. Chicken chunks were nice. Mains: Chinese style pork was good, hadcock was good, enchiladas the cheese was a slob, three of us had roast beef which was tender but no flavour, veg was microwaved, stone cold. Deserts: we'd hoped that the desert would save the night but it didn't. Two of us had white chocolate fudge cake, one was hot and was nice but the other was cold and the icing was SEPERATING, was actually vile... Anyways, we was recommended by a couple on coming here last minute, from reviews it seems to have been good earlier this year, so not sure what exactly happened, but definitely not coming again!

Went to the railway for a works Christmas meal with colleagues. Staff very pleasant and polite. Food was very nice Christmas menu was good and fairly priced for the 2 course or 3 course meal. COVID restrictions are in place, nice setting and will visit again.

As someone who used to come to this place a lot, I'm disappointed that I won't ever be returning again. The food is absolutely superb, nothing to be faulted whatsoever. Majority of the staff are exceedingly friendly and can't complain whatsoever there. However the reason for not returning is the atmosphere. It seemed absolutely miserable the last two times I've been since Lockdown lifted. The owner has been exceedingly blunt and rude to me twice in a row which quite frankly makes me feel uncomfortable & the customers around the pub premises aren't friendly whatsoever. Last but not least the drinks are the most expensive I've ever seen in ANY pub. The food pricing is excellent but the drinks will ramp up your bill beyond belief, it's ridiculous. Don't recommend. There's plenty of other pubs worth giving a chance instead.
