Food is excellent, service is very good and prices are reasonable. Couldn't ask for more really. “We came for lunch for our wedding anniversary, and it was fabulous. The server was really professional and efficient, not too intrusive, even though we were the only diners, but incredibly helpful when needed. The quality of the food was impeccable, and really tasty too. We shared dishes so we each chose a main dish we specifically wanted. I love a good curry but am not usually all that enthusiastic about tandoori and tikka dishes, but the tandoori mixed grill (my husband's choice) was so well executed I will definitely have it again. The next time can't come round soon enough.”

“Great, cheap diner. The embodiment of 'cheap and cheerful', staff were very friendly with a lot of polite banter being thrown between each other and customers. Food was very decent for basic food but the price is very reflective of this, we were more than satisfied that we received value for money. The service was very quick, and all our food (meals for 6) came out at the same time, some variation in the meals too. I can recommend for a meal to fill you up or for a quick bite.”

“An lovely, cosy hotel with a homely charm. Quiet and tranquil despite being in the centre of town. The proprietors are charming and although they are not there all of the time there is a phone number to call should you need them but everything you need is provided in the imdividually decorated rooms. No it isn’t modern, no it doesn’t have some of the facilities of the ‘chain’ hotels but it more than makes up for it in uniqueness and the warm and thoughtful welcome. I would happily return any time. Thank you for reminding me of what good hotels used to be like before they all started to look the same.”

“Love the chips nice and hot and fresh. The chips were freshly cooked whilst we waited. and the savaloy sausages tasted really nice as well. Over the last few years their quality has improved big time and they are getting better and better all the time I think.”

“We brought our caravan to Merryhill from a Park Holidays site a few weeks ago, looking for a quieter, less commercialised park. We intended to give it a year to see how we liked it before thinking about upgrading. However, within two weeks we were totally smitten with the park, the surroundings, and most importantly the friendly staff and park owners, John and Georgina. We saw a newer caravan in a perfect position, and having been offered a good part exchange we decided to buy it. We are surprised read some of the unpleasant comments from previous residents, I'm sure they have their reasons for these personal remarks but from our point of view we are sure we have made the right decision and look forward to many happy years here at Merryhill.”
