   Morning meet for 3 of us. Two of us arrived after the first one who had already ordered their coffee. We ordered a coffee and a tea both with oat milk and then added 3 toasted Tcakes. This seemed impossible to obtain - yes we got it after about 4 attempts involving a tray laid for 3, 2, and none in several configurations. We paid cash and were overcharged as the receipt showed. The discount was twice offered as a rebate on the card - we paid cash. The Tcakes didn't materialize so we had to ask if they were in the pipeline ... 2 of them were..... the3rd one had to be asked for again. We were more amused than annoyed - it was all a bit Norman Wisdom. Sympathy for the person serving, there probably should have been 2 of them at the bar during this busy time. . We ordered and paid for more coffee &T. After 20mins one of our number had to leave. Yes they offered a refund but there was no sense of urgency or "OMG we forgot you, sorry" The whole experience was a surreal interlude. The coffee, the T, the Tcakes all lovely and no extra charge for oatmilk - thank you.. we left the Angel feeling a bit confused but smiling all the same. Hats off to the person behind the bar for coping with the rush and remaining smiley. Would recommend unless you're in a hurry.

   This was our 3rd stay at this lovely inn/hotel. The staff is/are all so kind and welcoming and really make you feel looked after. Our room was very comfortable and the updated en-suite bathroom was clean and modern. The included breakfast is amazing and you can choose from an ample menu. The hotel also has great food available in the lovely pub/bar and the well appointed Italian restaurant. Look out for the daily specials which never disappoint. We look forward to our next visit.

   Just the most delicious antipasti, venison steak and lemon tart! The chef knows what he’s doing and Lizzie is excellent front of house. Thank you for such an amazing meal. Will be back!

   Recently stayed at The Angel during the Latitude Festival and the amazing team at The Angel made my experience even better. I had a fall a few days before the Festival and considered not going over concerns about mobility and travel, etc - Angela at The Angel was brilliant with great advice and guidance on shuttle bus and how to navigate the Festival with limited mobility and other hints and tips. The room was lovely, clean and v.comfortable and the breakfasts were great. And as noted, the staff make this hotel even better and I wouldn't have gone to the Festival without their help. Thank you!

   Stayed overnight this week to attend family funeral which was at the church very close by. It’s a beautiful old building, super friendly staff. Very nice meal in the Italian restaurant which was reasonably priced. We were in room 1 which was huge and had a great shower as well as plenty of tea/coffee, hairdryer etc.and a nice view of outside. Breakfast was more than ample and cooked fresh. We happened to have the wake here as well, buffet was very good. A very pleasant stay.

   We visited Cleone's Italian restaurant. The Angel was easy to locate in Halesworth. Good size car park that is well lit after dark. No waiting at reception, and guided by friendly staff to our booked table. A good choice of pasta and pizza dishes, though we chose duck with cherries and vegetable selection. Good portion of nicely cooked duck. Vegetables were just right for us, with carrots served with a hit of garlic. Reasonable selection of desserts, with added attraction of pleasant choice of ' knickerbocker glory' selection. Soft Italian music playing in the background creating a pleasant atmosphere, and Italian themed wall decorations. Altogether a very pleasant meal in a calm environment.

   When you walk into a good hum drum of conversation you know that the food will be good. Good decor, service and food, reasonable prices nice Italian selection, risotto with broad beans, peas, lemon and prawns was gorgeous, big helping cooked to perfection just on the bite. They know how to make a decent Expresso Martini too, I needed the pick up, we'll be back but you need to book!

   Really liked our stay at The Angel. Lovely room, quite clean and tidy. Excellent food, we ate in the bar on both of the day we stayed. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. The best customer service we have had since before covid! It makes a change to deal with happy pleasant members of staff. It has been a pleasure.

   I know the Angel quite well having briefly lived in the town. It is very well run & the staff consistently helpful & friendly. Having never stayed I can't comment on the room standards, but have enjoyed numerous meals, snacks and pints over the last nineteen years. The restaurant (Cleones) seems to run as a separate business within the pub/hotel and has always produced excellent Italian dishes as well as the usual pub grub. You can eat in main bar too, and there is outside seating. The Angel has its own free car park & there are two public car parks within a two minute walk. Hope this helps.
