Ordered the pie and chips. The portion size would have been suitable for a child. Seriously a sliver of a slice of pie, 4 mouthfuls at best. Iβd have settled for that if it was quality however it was dry, hard and tasted far too salty. An eyeful of gravy, 9 chips and hard peas didnβt help much either. My wife had sausage & mash which she said was ok, so perhaps I just made the wrong choiceβ¦ Given all the good reviews I owe to them and myself to try again but quite honestly the portion size for an adult was ridiculous.

Absolutely lovely homemade food! Compliments to the chef Simon as his food is superb! We had the special of the day which was Game and wild mushroom stroganoff which was delicious! Would highly recommend this village pub to anybody who fancies a hearty meal with a friendly welcoming atmosphere!

We just popped to The Red House for a drink, as it's walking distance, and to see if we'd like to come back another time for food. The food options seem very diverse and appealing, but they don't serve food Mondays or Tuesdays, which is fair enough. What put me off was the lukewarm greeting from the only bar tender, who's attitude was verging on suspicious. My drink was OK but it was my second choice, as they didn't stock what I asked for. I may give it a second chance, especially as other reviews favourable about the food.

Went for the 3 course valentines meal. Food was exceptional. Starter duck spring rolls and beef short rib for main, absolutely delicious. Fine dining food. Nice open fire, quality beer and good service. Highly recommended

This pub does not get enough credit as it deserves. Visited today for sunday dinner and oh my god, one of the best homemade dinner we had in Stoke. Think it would help massively if the pub would concentrate a bit more on the marketing side and social media to promote their delicious food. Not quite sure on the pub ownership, it looks independent more than a chain, which it should made it more flexible to promote it a lot more. We have also tried the normal evening menu on a different o as and this has not disappointed either. Very very good and competitive prices considering the market value, the food portion is just over the normal size as well. Desserts homemade too. I wish I could share this experience to more people and hopefully people will visit this place more, it truly deserves to be part of the food awards. The place has a huge carpark and it is easy to find, plus they have a very decent selection of drinks. If you want some good quality food, please give it a chance. This review is solely based on my experience and it is not an ad. The dinners were Β£11 each.

The menu here is amazing, food all freshly cooked and home made. Portion size and value for money is spot on. The staff are all really friendly and it has a great atmosphere. It was a chilly day and the fire was lit. Highly recommended.

Had some fantastic meals here lately! Great menu with light bite lunch options. Do a great pie and huge portions! The only thing that stops me going here more often, is the only pie option is 'Pie of the day' - generally that's my go to and on occasion the filling / option hasn't been something I fancied! With a couple of firm pies on the menu, this would be up there with my go to place of choice!

Fantastic meal, staff were very friendly. In the current climate the way the pub red house is set up has made it very easy to social distance from other groups.. Steak show below
