   Horribly rude attitude from the bloke behind the bar, not child friendly or to be fair even friendly at all. Would not recommend to anyone. So many better local pubs around, all are more welcoming and all serve better food.

   I was on a day trip to the Peak District and, between two destinations, I looked for somewhere to have lunch with my friends. I came across The Wheel and decided to stop there. Upon entering the pub, I approached the man behind the bar while looking at the menu. I asked whether they served hamburgers. My question clearly upset him, as he replied quite bluntly: "If you want a burger, go to McDonald's – we only serve traditional pub food here." I found this response unnecessarily rude. I then asked for a place to sit, and although the pub was nearly empty, he directed us to a table right next to the toilets. I ordered a dish (which wasn’t great, to be honest), and during our meal, a waitress interrupted my conversation with friends to ask if I’d finished – when I clearly hadn’t. What struck me most was the overall attitude. I’ve visited over 25 countries and have lived in the UK for more than three years, but this was by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. To add to the disappointment, one of my friends asked for a portion of chips and was told they don't serve chips on their own – only as part of a main dish. We had two beers and one main course, and paid £23.

   Really welcoming and warm atmosphere however the food we had was unfortunately not good , no flavour at all and boiled this included the salmon and the curry no seasoning at all . The chips were lovely though. There were loads of regulars in so think the items we had maybe should be taken off the menu and concentrate on those dishes people keep coming back for .

   Nice traditional Pub with a friendly atmosphere. Good home cooking at value for money prices. The Steak Pie and Chips is a very popular choice. Highly recommended.

   Traditional small pub selling good value food and drink. The mixed grill in particular is huge with proper old school chips like you'd have had growing up before everything became oven chips. Very nice and easy to recommend.
