Local takeaway. Friendly service. £15 minimum for card payment. Haven't tried much off the menu but egg fu yung is good and chips excellent!

Never ordering again. Really disappointed. We had king prawn chow mein, the only thing good about it was the king prawns, no flavour at all. Salt and pepper chips, these were really over seasoned, my partner couldn’t eat them. Beef curry, the curry was really thick, again didn’t taste of anything. Crispy chicken in chilli sauce, well, this was the worst out of it all, no flavour, the chicken was tough, not crispy at all, again didn’t taste of anything. Not a lot more to say, really disappointment and a waste of £30, won’t be ordering again.

We've been regulars at this restaurant for years, and the food has always been excellent — flavourful, fresh, and generous portions. Service has always been very friendly too — we've never had any issues. However, during a recent walk past Ru Yi, my dad and I saw a woman (who I believe was one of the owners, as it was after closing time) sitting in the front window seat with her leg up, clipping her toenails. This was quite off-putting — especially given that it's a food establishment — and it made me question the hygiene standards behind the scenes. I truly hope this was a one-off and not reflective of their usual practices. I'm writing this with hesitation (I really dislike giving negative reviews), but I think it's important for customers to be aware so they can make an informed decision about whether or not to dine here. Like I said, the food has always been exceptional — but unfortunately, we're now very hesitant to return after this incident.

First time here although have lived in the area for a few years now. Wasn’t expecting much from a small village Chinese takeaway. Food was great, good value and ready in 10 minutes. About as good as you can get. Thank you!

Decided to sample a good portion of popular items from the menu: Salt and Chilli Chips, Chicken and Ribs, Duck in Black Pepper Sauce, Hot and Sour Soup, Chow Mein, Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Sauce and some free Vegetable Spring Rolls thrown in. Salt and Chilli flavour wasn't necessarily what I was used to from other takeaways, however was fairly flavourful especially on the ribs, which were enjoyable. The quality of the chicken pieces seemed poor - they were fairly dry to the point that even the Sweet and Sour sauce couldn't save them. Chow Mein noodles were a little too soft but otherwise what you would expect. Hot and Sour Soup tasted like Sweet and Sour sauce I missed the other flavours I would usually associate with this soup, no vinegar or umami notes made it through the sweetness. While not unpleasant, the soup lacked depth. Black Pepper sauce flavours were strong, punchy pepper balanced with a slight sweetness, a spot-on consistency and selection of vegetables, I especially enjoyed the inclusion of water chestnut and mushroom for added texture. This was paired with a well-seasoned Egg Fried Rice. Overall, not a bad Chinese takeaway, but there are better options five minutes up the road in Cheadle.

Possibly the worst chinese I’ve ever had. Large order the only edible things were the sweet corn soup and chicken & mushroom soup just about. The hot and sour soup didn’t even remotely resemble a hot and sour soup was bizarre perhaps go and look at how to make one online properly please!! Very Cheap meat and over usage of salt. Even the boiled rice was bad! How can you get boiled rice wrong…!! Very shocking. Very disappointing.(Review from someone who is half chinese and knows my food! And eaten hundreds of times everywhere! )

Lovely staff, food was good at first but after 1 hour we both ended up on the toilet… First time ordering and not a fan unfortunately

Went back to bad. We have ordered some chicken and some beef. The chicken was funny taste and texture, more onion than meat in every dish, started adding celery into dishes, which I,personally, don't like. Not impressed. Next time will go to cheadle
