Surly staff, equipment falling apart, terrible food. The worst batter I've ever had, not even cooked and very soggy. Translucent chips, the only thing that was good were the peas that came out of a tin at home! Ever likely it was empty for the whole time I was there. Never again.

Lovely ladies on staff, only slight issue with food was new oil so chips weren't as crispy as some might like. Ladies did point this out & apologised - chips were good regardless. Recommended!

Our favourite go to chippy a stone's throw away. Recently had Yorkshire fritters (small piece of fish fried between battered potato slices) on the menu. Although we're not in Yorkshire, I really enjoyed it.

A great fish and chip shop very tasty and cooked to order...

Best fish and chips in the country. Wonderful service and portions are large. Five stars well deserved.

Service… no welcome or hello. Took our order, took payment then we waited forever for our food. Food is edible but that is as far as I would go. Very expensive for food that isn’t even that great. Staff miserable and slow.

Nice food but slow service. A bit deer for what you get but that's forgivable due to the crisis. Boss man could be a bit more liberal with the curry sauce and chips and not take ages wrapping it but hes a good kid very pleasant.

Recently moved back into the area after 15 years away. Really enjoy this chippy. The curry sauce is the best one I have tasted around the area. Also was very impressed with how clean the place is. Only moved back a few weeks and already been here twice.

Won't be going back. Recently moved to the area and this was closest chippy. First experience wasn't great, didn't rate the service (and speed) at all. Order a large chips and took it home and it barely fed our family of 4 (with two small children under 6). We used to be able to order a regular at our old chip shop in Newcastle and it be plenty. Husband went in tonight and again, small portions and service with a smile - non existent. No thank you or goodbye was recipiated. Given it two stars rather than 1 because the food was just ok, nothing amazing. Really disappointed!
