Cosy & Polished First visit to Higher Ground Café in Congleton and we are obsessed. The vanilla matcha latte was perfectly smooth, the cinnamon bun latte was just like pure autumn-in-a-cup, and the banana pancakes & cherry almond porridge were everything you want to eat after a slow morning. Such a calm, welcoming spot — we can’t wait to go back.

This is absolutely my favourite place to go in Congleton. The quality of all of the food and drinks is exceptional! We’ve held private parties here which have been equally as fantastic! The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is so lovely and relaxed!

Lovely cafe in the centre of Congleton. Good range of food with standard brunch options as well as the seasonal ones which is nice as I Iike to try something new and different.

I have visited Higher Ground on numerous occasions and love the decor, atmosphere and delicious food. Staff are always polite and attentive. I often visit with my children and mum who has mobility issues and staff go out of their way to accommodate us on a table that is accessible for her. The food is always delicious, and it is clear that they use the best locally sourced products. I usually go for brunch but recently tried the Shawarma wrap that was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Higher Ground Café in Congleton, and I must say, it was an experience to remember! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The decor is charming, with a cozy vibe that encourages you to linger over your coffee. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the Eggs Benedict. It was simply divine! The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, with that glorious runny yolk that spills onto the perfectly toasted English muffin. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, adding a luxurious touch to each bite. The dish was beautifully presented, and it was evident that a lot of care went into its preparation. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my experience was nothing short of delightful. I also appreciated the variety of other menu options, making it a great place to return to and try something new. Overall, Higher Ground Café is a lovely place to enjoy a meal, and their Eggs Benedict is a must-try. I can’t recommend it enough! Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for a taste of their delicious offerings. I can’t wait to return!

I pretty much never write reviews but the meal I had a couple of weeks ago was so outstanding that I wanted to share my experiences. Genuinely, the best steak I've ever eaten and overall one of the finest meals I've had anywhere. We had the sharing steak - a beautiful, perfectly cooked sirloin which cut like a fillet and was delicious, complimented by the thyme used in the cooking process. Ordinarily the steak would be the star of the meal, but everything else on the plate was incredible too - confit potato which was crisp on the outside and beautifully light on the inside, perfectly roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and a whole head of garlic, served with excellent bearnaise and chimichurri sauces (I think - it was green and tasty but I didn't actually check what this was!). Overall a really excellent and thoughtful dish, and great value for money given the quality of all the ingredients and amount of food. Also worth mentioning is the service which was lovely - attentive, but not overly so. I'm obsessed with great food and a decent steak is as good as it gets for me - this meal ticked all the boxes and I will definitely be back for another round. Thank you!

Had a lovely Eggs Benedict, beautiful presentation (would have liked a little more hollandaise sauce). Also had a yummy deluxe coconut hot chocolate. In comparison to lots of other places Higher Grounds prices are reasonable. Staff were welcoming and service was fast. We shall be back.

Very lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and gorgeous food. We shared a cinnamon French toast which was the perfect balance of sweet and tart - highly recommend. Amazing coffee too! (Also very reasonable prices)

Food, coffee and drinks are sensational. Such a refreshing spot to arrive in Congelton, unique to the town. Been twice already since it's opened and loved every plate I've had. The spicy eggs are immense, highly recommend. Can't wait to come back for the roast and mezze. Quality and attention to detail is spot on.
