We were in for a Sunday lunch late afternoon, we found a table and ordered our food, 1 turkey dinner and 1lamb dinner, we didn’t have to wait long whilst having a drink the food came out with a variety of potato’s and veg, piping hot and plenty of them, I like a turkey dinner and this was a firm favourite, we tucked in to a lovely meal with a decent portion of meat, can’t fault the food, staff were attentive as we decided to have our pudding after another drink. Cannot fault it at all, from service to quality and quantity . Highly recomended

I have not been here for a while but the wife chose this for her birthday today as it was always great service great food and local Most of us were attending the remembrance parades today so a late Sunday lunch was required I have to say today was not so good although we had pre ordered food and booked table 2 weeks prior Arrived on time at 16:00 did not get served until 16:45 only 1 other table with people The roast potatoes were pale and raw The coliflower cheese was so cold it must have come straight out of the fridge (we returned it) they brought us some more or though we thought but it had only been put under the grill as the cheese ended up burnt and non existent Minimal other veg was offered compared to how it used to be Gravy was cold Chunky chips for a children option at £4.50 with no fries option No one came to see if everything was alright Use to eat here very regularly and had Christmas dinner sometimes on Christmas Day We didn’t have the sweets as we left

A very nice, tasty home cooked meal was had here tonight. All the food was delicious, the lamb shank was particularly nice. Very decent portion sizes and reasonable pricing. Very nice setting, lovely local village pub feel to the evening. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend visiting here for a relaxed home cooked meal.

This was my second visit to The Rifleman and to be honest I didn't really enjoy my meal. Think everyone else did that we were with on this occasion but I just think I chose the wrong meal. The lighting in the dining area is very dark much darker than I would like it to be when eating a meal. I do like to see what I'm eating. The desert however was delicious and the service was really good.

We were so pleased about our eating experience at the rifleman inn. After booking at short notice they were able to accommodate us (a party of 19) celebrating my wife's birthday. The ladies made us feel really welcome and the food was not only delicious but it came out hot and was well presented. Compliments to the chef. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you Guys Phil

Booked ahead with the Covid restrictions in place. Got a text message as email confirmation was bouncing, which is great service. Food was nice and portion sizes were good. Hunters chicken was cooked well and the chips had a great taste to them. It was all done via table service and everyone was very efficient and on the ball. No waiting around for drinks, which can sometimes be an issue with table service. A nice afternoon in the beer garden, nice weather, with nice food and drink. What more could you ask for on a bank holiday?
