   Came here to treat my dad and what a find it was. Dad loved the pub , the atmosphere and a friendly greeting from the owner. My hubby said had the best steak pie ever. My cottage pie was delicious and my dad chose the braising steak which I loved. Will be back for sure

   Absolutely 5 out of 5 stars for value, service and attention. Upon entering you are given such a friendly welcome that makes you feel relaxed and invited. The food: Home cooking, plentiful, tasty and truly excellent value. No wonder the place was getting full even on a wet, cold Monday evening. The service we had from Melaine and the rest of the staff was amazing, it really was. Nothing was too much trouble and you felt a valued customer. Fantastic and one of the places we will remember dearly from our trip to Cheshire.

   Went for lunch with three friends on Monday - not everywhere is open on Mondays for food, so that was a gold star for them to start with. Lovely gem of a place, cosy atmosphere, very friendly staff and the food was great. The menu had a couple of vegetarian options, but the waitress said there were others not listed and told us what the options were. I had the potato curry and it was very tasty, piping hot, and looked beautiful when it came. We were too full to try one of the very tempting sounding desserts! It was a long and narrow back lane to get there, but so glad we went there and I'm sure we'll be back.
