Unfortunately the television wasnt working. Table lamp wasn't working. The kettle! Well see for yourself in photos. The only place for this would be the bin. Absolutely disgustingly dirty. Carpets have seen better days. I wouldn't stay again as these are just basic things which shouldn't be missed by basic housekeeping

My late Mothers wake was held here today. The room was stunning , perfectly set out and the buffet was just delicious. Fresh and varied and plenty for everyone. The staff were outstanding. We could not have wished better for our dear Mam. Thank you so much.

βββββ Awful Sunday Lunch β Wouldnβt Go Back One of the worst Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. Everything felt cheap and thrown together with no care at all. The Yorkshire puddings were the tiny frozen ones that looked like they came straight from a budget supermarket. The peas were a depressing grey-green, clearly tinned, and completely unappetising. Every single item on the plate had the same unpleasant, sloppy consistency β overcooked, watery veg with zero flavour. The boiled potatoes were mush, full of water like theyβd been left soaking for hours, and there was just one roast potatoβ¦ grainy, tasteless, and definitely not fresh. The parsnips were limp, soggy, and just as disappointing. Service was what youβd expect from untrained youngsters β not rude, but certainly not polished. The dessert was bought-in, bland, and felt like an afterthought. The coke was not coke but a cheap pump- horrible tasting syrup. The only remotely positive thing to say is the price: Β£15 for two courses. But honestly, even that felt like too much for what we were served. Very poor, very disappointing β we definitely wonβt be returning. Would love to know the cooks secret to how they got everything on the plate tasting the same.

This hotel will stay in my memories when I have a nightmare. The beds were without madrasβs, you felt the springs into you back. The breakfast was sooo bad, one toaster that had a long line. And frankly nothing else.

We stayed for one night, quite frankly thank goodness it was just one. Staff were pleasant but that is the only positive bit of feedback we can leave. The room ( number 1) looked ok at first glance but looking at the hygiene standards quite frankly it was gross, the bedding stank, dust absolutely everywhere, the noise from outside was horrendous even with the windows closed. The breakfast was continental, the ham and cheese were uncovered, the cover for the bread looked like it had a bullet hole. My biggest concern however was the fire door being wedged open with a small chunk of wood!!. Safe to say we would never stay again or recommend the hotel and it's one star food hygiene rating to anyone.

Went for Sunday lunch, had turkey which was plentiful, cheeky little roastie and a parnip, with peas and carrots, gravy was lovely, however I just felt it lacked cabbage or another fresh veg, didn't feel like value for money at Β£12.95, but enjoyable all the same.

Lovely pub, been here twice so far and there's been great music each time. Tried their amaretto sour which was lovely. Quick bar service and plenty of seating. Saw the new year in, which was nice.

Has a function that plays loud music until 1am. Unfotunately got no sleep which was upsetting as i work hard and was looking forward to a break. Not recommended as the hotel does not consider its guests.

I've stayed in the castle many times over the last few years. I have always had a lovely stay the staff are always very welcoming. Mike the night porter was really friendly and extremely nice fella.

The place was fairly busy, we didn't have a reservation but they managed to find a seat for my family and I with one of us in a wheelchair. Plenty of space to move around, the facilities were clean, clutter free and nicely presented. The service was amazing, the waiters were very helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was nicely cooked and great portion sizes. A true delight to visit, we had a great evening.
