   What a delight and I am difficult to please in the footwear department.These Chelsea boots are high-quality, comfortable out of the box and beautifully made. The shape of the boot is elegant (I usually take a slightly wider shoe but this boot is some form of Tardis) and the fit is spot on. If you are used to Crockett and Jones/Churches but don’t like the price, these are the same quality with a very similar fit.The boot is made in England, which I like. When you order, don’t forget to add in polish as De Winter’s is top notch (contains beeswax and almond oil). If you know the feeling of the first sip of a perfect martini, a great steak or a suit that fits just so, this is the bootmaker for you. I will be back. (For the avoidance of doubt, I have no affiliation to this company other than I really like their boots-Just in case you hadn’t guessed.).

   Just purchased the De Winter Warwick chukka boot in dark leaf grain. Firstly the service was fantastic; as I live in Ireland I wanted to make sure I ordered the correct size. I emailed Will a mapping of my foot (see website) and he advised on the best size. Delivery was very fast (2 days). Quality of the boots exceeds the price you pay, in both materials and workmanship. Leather inside and out is excellent. These boots will last many years and the goodyear welt will mean heel and sole repairs are easily done. Would I recommend De Winter Bootmaker to family / friends?    My DeWinter boots are the most comfortable smart shoes I have ever owned. Beautifully made and hard wearing, I can see these lasting 20 years or more. That makes it about £10 a year; really good value.

   My boots arrived today and they are fantastic, they look even better in person than in the photographs. They are easily on par with rival brands costing twice as much. Richard De Winter was incredibly responsive to my emails and helpful in advising me on quality levels of his own brand as well as others he sells and the differences between US and UK sizing. I will certainly be buying more from them in the future.

   Sometimes you come across a special company that you've never heard of. De Winter boots is one of those. I was looking for an alternative to Crockett and Jones suede chukkas and after comparing Loake and Cheaney I chose De Winters for their style, quality and value. The waxed suede offers extra durability too and wasn't available from competitors. The real difference though was the service from Richard who patiently sent me two options without postage charge and helped me to get the perfect size and fit. It is his company and there is no substitute for someone with his knowledge and commitment to customer service. I thoroughly recommend Richard and his excellent products.

   I have recently purchased my third pair of De Winter boots from Bradshaw and Lloyd in Hurstpierpoint,West Sussex. The combination of quality and value is simply unbeatable. The English workmanship and the leathers themselves are superb. They all originate from the same last so a consistent fit is assured. These have all been very good boots,maybe even brilliant for the price.
