   East Brighton Café isn’t just a café—it’s a feeling. From the moment you step inside, you’re met with a gentle, positive vibe that settles into you like warmth after a long walk on the Downs. There’s something homely here, something quietly healing. It’s the kind of place where people come not only to eat, but to breathe, to recharge, to feel looked after. The food is consistently incredible—fresh, thoughtful, and clearly made with care. But what truly makes this place special are the people. Marilyn and Leonardo don’t just cook; they create experiences. They’ve served me some of the best food I’ve ever had, but more than that, they’ve lifted my spirits on days when I needed it most. Their presence, their kindness, and the love they put into their work have genuinely charged me. They make the café feel alive. East Brighton Café is comfort, peace, and nourishment all in one. It’s become a little sanctuary for me, and I’m grateful it exists. This place healed me :)

   Delicious cheese and sweetcorn samosas with an amazing homemade chilli jam, and the coffee was wonderful too. Quite busy at 10am on a Saturday morning but service was very friendly and I didn't wait long for food! Would definitely return ❤️

   Ok maybe they were having an off day. I said a warm hello to the lady at the counter on her phone and got completely blanked. We then stood there waiting for her to finish. Had pea and potato, and mackerel samosas served with tomato ketchup. Mango chutney would be better. Food was nothing special but to be fair my wife enjoyed the mackerel ones. The place didn’t have a happy vibe at all today. The music was loud and there was a lot of noise from a fridge or something in the kitchen.

   Really nice little cafe. Bright and colourful and the girl serving from South Africa was really friendly! We only ordered drinks and some chips to eat outside (17.08.24 about 15:25) and we were served quickly. Chips were brought out to the table for us outside so we didn’t need to wait for them. Will definitely go back - the burgers that the chef was cooking looked DELICIOUS and so did the chicken wings that we saw them taking out!

   What a lovely gem of a place!! We had brunch here and it was filling enough to tide me over till 7pm. A very generous portion of smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast for me, sausage and bacon bap for my partner. They also make the best tea in Brighton❤️ Lovely staff, lovely place. Dog friendly and easy to park nearby. Will definitely be going back!!

   What a lovely place to eat and socialise. Took my chihuahuas for breakfast the two mornings we stayed at the local camp site and they were welcomed with the same warm reception as we were. Plenty of fresh water and treats for them too. The cafe is set within a lovely picnic area with a place for the dogs to play. We grew fond of all the staff particularly the young man who made sure we were looked after like one of his friends. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever tasted and the quality of the food was second to none and the cup of tea was a proper cuppa. The facilities in the cafe were fantastic and very thoughtful, with a separate quiet room, bathroom with baby changing area and a large seating area to eat, gave a lovely open and friendly feel. We were even greeted by the locals. Highly Recommended to everyone.

   Delicious food and service with a (big!) smile! We’ve eaten lunch from the cafe for years now and are always impressed. This time we did the Durban curry club takeaway experience for the first time - was very very tasty and there was plenty of variety. Will be doing it again sometime for sure! Just glanced down and noted the recent complaint about an overpriced bap - only going on my own experience of course I think the pricing is fair and reflective of the quality and freshness. Thanks to Marilyn and the team!

   Every single morning since this January we’ve been walking our dog in the east brighton park and the East Brighton Cafe has been an absolute godsend. There is no better moment than arriving soaking wet at the cafe and having our regular drink prepared. We always get the usual and it became a nice routine with all the staff when we walk in and they already know what to prepare. The dogs we meet in the park are all allowed to visit the cafe where they always find a fresh bowl of water and a treat from the jar! I really find the East Brighton Cafe to be one of the most comforting places I have found here in Brighton. Thank you to all the staff and the owner of the cafe for making each morning more enjoyable and their hard work!

   Loved the food. Had the lamb kebabs and they were delicious. Such a friendly, cheerful family run business. Marilyn is a delight. All her family recipes. Totally recommend. Beautiful setting. Came here a couple of weekends ago for a friend's birthday. They catered well for us with pre-booking food from a set menu. We each paid for our own meal and drinks when we arrived. So easy when there is a big group of you and you don't want all he hassle of sorting the bill at the end!
