Fantastic greasy spoon and easily the best one in Brighton. The Mac’s special breakfast is my go-to hangover cure. Pretty much everything was great- nice staff, good ingredients, tasty, clean etc. if you want a Kemptown fry up this is yer place.
Super nice place with a lot of space and a good vibe. Service was alright it was busy so fair enough. I think the fry up was about a 4 star overall really and I’ve docked a point from that cause I also just think it’s maybe a bit expensive. If I wanted to add black pudding, mushrooms and a tomato to really complete a fry up I’d be looking at around £15 which is too much for a greasy spoon. The bacon is clearly very good as are the beans but the sausage was small and a bit of a let down. Mushrooms decent but again a bit on the small side for I think an extra £1.80. I think there are better fry ups around but it is a nice gaff, just don’t think it’s great value. EDIT Been back to Mac’s. Absolutely love it. Fried bread in the middle is genius. Sausage is great, bacon is great. Hash brown fried to perfection. It’s worth every penny. I’m so sorry for doubting you Mac.
A true cafe in a world of cafés. Good food, slightly uncomfortable seats, outdated decor amazing garden. A last frontier of a dying breed of real seaside cafes couldn't recommend more.
best place in the world for some top tier bubble and squeak and a crossword. We love it ♥️
Great service with best english breakfast in East Sussex.
Had the worst experience here. Went there in the morning to have breakfast. When I just finished my coffee a man came and told me to pay though there were a few vacant tables. He looked very skeptical until he checked with his colleagues. Wonder if they treat other local customers like that? Felt like I just encountered another racism and it ruined my morning. I won't go back there. NEVER!
