This cafe is under new ownership and I really wanted to like and support a local independent business. However, the quality has taken a massive nose dive. We ordered 2 full breakfasts which were poor quality ingredients and badly cooked. Old cheap bacon; few beans in a sea of sauce. Over cooked eggs, under cooked toast, poor quality sausage and slimy mushrooms. Also ordered pancakes that were clearly from a packet but not even heated up. Only plus was that they are still using the same quality coffee that the previous owners used. Food service was chaotic. The food is not cheap so expected more. I may get a coffee here again but nothing else. Toilet was also out of order.

Brilliant breakfast. I've only been a couple of times now but I've had a wonderful breakfast everytime. Due to the English breakfast being so good I've not actaully had another option but from what I've seen they all look excellent. The coffee and tea is also on point. They have home made bakes availble for eat in or takeaway also, which all look incredible and again the ones I've had, are. Beautiful food and drink in a cafe with a great feel to it. The staff are all really kind and accommodating. Highly recommend.

My wife and myself had a lovely breakfast, all made with fresh Sussex produce. We especially liked the sausages from Sussex sausage company. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing and the staff were attentive and polite and nothing was too much trouble. My wife had her favourite drink, matcha, which she said was amazing and I had a really nice cortado. We even bought a loaf of bread and some pastries for later in the day. We will definitely return, thank you Salt and Ginger.

Salt & Ginger isn't just one of the best cafes I've ever visitedβit's a truly exceptional experience that delivers on quality and value in a huge way. If youβre looking for a spot with top-tier food at prices that feel like a steal, this is it. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is efficient and friendly, making the entire visit seamless. Salt & Ginger is the perfect go-to for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick coffee. I cannot recommend this place enough! Go visit immediately.

Nice coffee shop that also does breakfast baps, sandwiches, soup etc. Sells bottled beer too. Good menu choice and fairly priced. Very clean and tidy place. Would go again.

Lovley cafe! Coffee is really nice and so is the hot choc. Veggie and normal breakfast good! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff and good presentation. Could of maybe done a little more cooking on the potatoes as they are a little chompy and maybe some butter on the sourdough but other than that really nice and would definitely return!

Went to the pop up Mexican evening last night & food was outstanding. Really tasty, reasonably priced & a really buzzy lovely atmosphere. Great to have this place on our doorstep & looking forward to more pop up evenings.

We had a nice brunch here. Everything was very tasty but found it a little bit pricey for what it is considering the portion sizes etc. Otherwise itβs a nice cafΓ© and we are happy to have a place like this in the village.

Cafe Salt is always a real treat. The avocado, eggs and bacon (see pic) is out of this world and the coffee is always excellent. Itβs quickly become my favourite place in Saltdean to unwind and enjoy some good food. Highly recommended.

The Mexican evening was delish. Food is full of flavour and zing. Salt is perfect for families wanting dinner out. Margarita was a welcome addition to dinner! Weve been for coffee and lunch to. Menu is full of healthy tasty options. Coffee great and milkshakes. Great addition to saltdean.
