Good experience! Stopped by for a quick pint and a light snack. Daniel greeted us warmly and even offered to describe the beers if we had any questions. We ordered a fish pie, which was hearty and delicious. Thank you Pump House!

Had pre-dinner drinks here when we arrived in Brighton, really lovely pub, we sat outside as even though it was mid-October it wasn’t cold, the views outside of the Laines area are beautiful. Well worth stopping for a few drinks outside on a nice evening.

If you want to understand why the British will never give up their pubs, come to The Pump House. After a few pints, you begin to realise this is not just a place to drink – it’s a cathedral of social survival. The bar creaks with history, the locals banter with the kind of dark wit that would make a Swiss banker cry, and the beer flows with a consistency that puts Swiss train timetables to shame. We’re visiting from Switzerland, a country where drinking culture means sipping overpriced wine in silence while pretending to enjoy small talk. Back home, we’d never get away with this sort of camaraderie – the neighbours would call the police after the second laugh. Here, you raise your glass, you talk to strangers, and suddenly you belong. The Pump House is proof that civilisation doesn’t come from neutrality or punctuality – it comes from a proper pint, poured in the right glass, in a pub that smells of wood, history, and mild bad decisions. God save the pub. Switzerland, take notes – but you’ll never have the balls to pull it off.

Great pub. Good food. Staff not too bad. I like having food here from time to time Fish and chips really good! Good portion, feels freshly made always. Prices are pretty high, buy after all everything else compensates.

We booked their upstairs room for our Christmas works do. All of my team had a lovely evening. The food was great, all came out together and was hot. Niko looked after us for the evening serving us drinks and generally looking after everyone. A great friendly venue, and centrally located for those who want to go out in Brighton. I’d highly recommend.

Ordered the cheese burger, unfortunately it might have been one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. Patty was super dry and flavourless and there was nothing inside the burger to help lubricate it down my throat. Two bites was all I could muster. Fries were nothing to write home about, seem like they were frozen. To end on a positive my partner did really enjoy her award winning meat pie, so there is that!

Brilliant, was a shame they had no roast lamb or beef, but everyone seems to be suffering supply issues nowadays, the roast pork was cooked to perfection though and the veg was lovely. The waitress was very keen and attentive and didn't even roll her eyes when it came to checking that the dessert was vegan for me (im lactose intolerant) she did it with a smile, checked her tablet and then went to the kitchen to make sure it was ok.
