Visiting from the southern United States and didn't want to miss a honky-tonk night. The Great Eastern didn't disappoint! Great atmosphere, awesome music, and friendly staff. Bartender Jonny introduced me to some new beers and even gave me some history on the pub. Can't wait to get back.

Great music, great atmosphere. Best pub in Brighton! The staff are amazing too, one of the servers called Evie was super kind and friendly. Answered all my questions about the ales on at the moment, she definitely deserves some praise!
Great pub, true to its name. Gulnur served us the best Guinness in Brighton and she was lovely. We will come back!
The experience at great eastern was none like any other in Brighton. The atmosphere was lovely with vinyl records playing the whole night. There is a wonderfully large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Leo, in particular, was crucial to our positive experience. He is truly a phenomenal barman. He was attentive, friendly and chatty with us throughout our stay, offering different beverages through asking what we were feeling like. Truly a lovely affordable pub unlike any other with genuine staff tucked away in Brighton.
Top pub! Great (and reasonably priced!) drinks for any taste, a fantastic atmosphere and the staff are all wonderful. Leo in particular is always a pleasure to be served by, super friendly and a great laugh. The Great Eastern easily became one of my favourite pubs in Brighton and I couldn't recommend it enough!
Stars are for the atmosphere - it has a great vibe in this pub. However it seems more suited for locals. There were no obvious drinks menus, so we looked on their website, and the recommended app to choose our drinks (no problem, benefit of mobile phones), but our visit was cut short when we attempted to order cocktails as per the menu, but were told they don't offer them. Please please update your website and your app to be true to what you serve! We were really disappointed that even the staff recommended we go elsewhere, rather than telling us what was on offer.
