A wonderful roast. Cauliflower cheese is amazing and a really yummy vegetarian option (usually these can be disappointing!). Noah who served us was super nice. Overall a lovely cosy Sunday experience
The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was well presented, fresh and delicious. We shared six different dishes between three people and enjoyed them all. We appreciated Chef’s time to talk through the menu and the follow-up to get our feedback. Thank you.
The new chef produced the most tasty and well presented small plates this evening. Simply delicious, we really enjoyed it and can't wait for when the roasts start in a couple of weeks.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I had the calamari which was lovely baby squid. We also had the whitebait, smash burger and mac n cheese. It was a really lovely meal and staff were friendly. I will definitely be going back again.
The pork belly must be one of the best roasts in Brighton! Aranchini balls & Mac n Cheese were good too.
It was a busy Saturday evening, it was very busy had to wait but that’s expected, food was nice and fresh so all was good. Just the Manager (I presumed it was the manager a gentleman in a short and trouser) spoke to the staff quite abruptly especially a young lad that was working really hard it’s wasn’t pleasant for customers to see if I’m honest.
Came across this pub in search of a meal last night. Friendly staff but hampered by a rather weird till that meant they couldn't do proper receipts...no matter. Chose vegetarian sweet pepper canneloni and a burger and bottle of red. Were told very clearly that we had an hours wait for food which was rather longer than we would have hoped but decided to stay as pub had a great atmosphere and we had snagged a table. The meal was very tasty so a good find.
Step. A device for ensuring that I exit a pub horizontally rather than vertically. And after only a pint and a half of Harvey's best. Alas I seem to be a bit liable to these sort of incidents these days. No damage, and the landlord was a real sweetie for picking me up and sitting me inside for a moment to recover. No damage since you ask. Five stars to the pub for having such a nice landlord. The Harvey's was good too. I will be back!
