Looking forward to a nice anniversary meal but was very disappointed. We waited nearly an hour for the food. Only 2 roasts to choose from, beeef and lamb. We chose the lamb but most of mine was inedible, very chewy, couldn't swallow it. Will be giving this a miss in the future.
Wow! Turned up without a booking to this buzzing busy pub. Honestly told we would have to wait 25 minutes to order food. In the meantime superb beer on pump and friendly service. Bang on 25 minutes we ordered food. We received both orders within 10 minutes with a good glass of Merlot/ ganache. Steak and chis and a vegetable curry were delicious. Well done guys! Great to see youngsters understanding service, beer, food and fun.
We had a great roast here. The staff are so friendly and polite. They are very dog-friendly and even gave him some plain chicken, which he was very pleased about! I will definitely be going back. Thank you x
Lovely roast dinner with a generous portion. Nice staff and a relaxed atmosphere. There was a long wait for food though which we weren’t warned about when we ordered. Also would be good if the roast beef dinner came with a steak knife.

Stayed here whilst walking the South Downs way and was so happy with our stay. The rooms are so lovely and clean, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is delicious and great value for money. Highly recommend!!! By far the best place we stayed on our walk.
The roasts were always good here, but recently they are even better. The beef is nice and blush pink. The roast potatoes are crispy and fluffy inside. You get a huge jug of gravy and a massive selection of piping hot, perfectly cooked veg. And the price is very reasonable indeed. You'll not find better value elsewhere.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent (the beef steak chilli was crafted in the fires of mordor but worth every firey mouthful). The pub and garden are lovely and well kept. Very enjoyable indeed!
