The sunday roast is absolutely amazing. The decor and the vibes are so good and the staff couldn’t be more attentive and friendly.

Great roast here. Bit of a wait but they warn you in advance when booking, and no wonder it’s popular! The food was great, lovely trimmings and exceptional vegetarian/vegan options. Only the Yorkshire pudding wasn’t perfection.

Our local friends enjoyed a good meal on their last visit, so they brought my friend and I visiting from Manchester for a Sunday dinner. The wait time was ridiculous. We eventually got told it was because they had to cook more potatoes. The servers were apologetic and kept offering to get us more drinks- turns out, not a single round was on the house. After an hour and a quarter, our food finally arrived and, boy, what a disappointment. As you can see in the picture…it’s not a complete roast. There were two sad, shrivelled carrots hiding under the tepid, chewy beef. Spring greens are, in my opinion, a cheap cop-out unworthy of being on a Sunday dinner plate. And that curled-up thing at the back? That was my Yorkshire pudding. I could tell our friends felt really awkward. My meal wasn’t worth half the price tag of £19. What a farce.

Popped in for the first time, based on previous reviews and I have to say that we were not disappointed. The size of the Roasts were immense, normally I would have been defeated but I was on a mission.....the Piggies were perfect, the cauliflower & broccoli with the added Polish Kielbasa were sublime, adding a meaty smokiness to the dish. I finished up with the Apple Cake - a big portion and a large Żubrówka with Apple juice and fresh mint. Hats off to the chef and the team, we had a wonderful lunch and finished it off with a walk on Hove seafront

Perfect place for a perfect Sunday roast! We ordered some broccoli cheese on the side and it was also delicious. Atmosphere is great for a good catch up with friends, a date, or even for chilling on your own, the Tavern looks homely with soft relaxing lightening as well as candlelight on each table. Staff friendly and helpful which is a plus.

Been in twice, once last year for a Sunday roast, top-notch if a shade over-seasoned, and last night for late evening beers. Chilled, welcoming, warm and candlelit. Nice 'backstreet' old school pub. Lovely bar staff.

Just quick stop for lunch, we decided to do takeaway menu and chose SiChuan Fried Rice, it was spicy and delicious. So we enjoyed our lunch break at Brighton Beach. Location at the main road between Brighton Train Station and the beach, a bit closer to the station though.

I really wanted this place to be amazing as photos looked great! But sadly we went on a day where the kitchen and staff seemed overwhelmed with the busy day. We were booked and arrived for 2pm, weren’t given a menu until 2.20 and waited over an hour for 3 roasts, we all had beef and while the good bits were great (huge portion sizes, lovely roasties and yorkshire puds) some of the beef was far too rare, and unchewable. We weren’t given a choice of how well cooked we wanted, and didn’t think to ask as expected a roast to be mostly cooked through, not totally rare like a steak. For over an hour’s wait, we were sadly disappointed. If I went again, I’d try chicken.
