   We came here for a birthday dinner and drinks and left extremely disappointed. We had a booking and were expected, yet after ordering our food we waited over an hour and a half for it to arrive with no communication of this long wait from the staff. After an hour we asked for an update and were told someone would come back with an estimate “in five minutes”, this never happened. Multiple people from our table went up several times to ask, only to be ignored or brushed off. We eventually had to push for any form of compensation, which should not be the customer’s responsibility and after 10 minutes of this were offered 1 drink. When the food finally arrived, it came out at completely different times and, frankly, was not good. By that point we had already paid and were stuck sitting there for nearly two hours waiting for sub-par food. For a pre-booked birthday meal, this level of service and organisation is unacceptable. Poor communication, excessive waiting times, and disappointing food. I would not recommend this place.

   This bar is my favourite in Newcastle! The service is always perfect no matter how busy it is and the food and drinks are delicious! Went for a bottomless brunch yesterday and got more than enough for our moneys worth!

   I will always recommend Darwin & Bear. Been for bottomless brunch lots of times. No restrictions, other places I've been you've got to have the same cocktail as each other and can't have another one until you've both finished. The food is also amazing! At Darwin & Bear seems a lot more relaxed, good music, good atmosphere.

   Came in today for food an was told that if I wanted anything Mexican that it wasent possible as the new manager wouldn’t be serving any of the items off that part of the menu as he did not like them ! The only food available would be the pizza …. My friend is gluten intolerant which is why we like to come here in the first place but because the new manager does not like the food on that part of the menu left us not being able to order anything at all …. Was pretty disgusted … remove your menus for a start if u arnt serving any of the food took our custom elsewhere

   Night out for a friend's birthday, bottomless brunch! Staff were amazing and drinks were prepared quickly! Great price for all included. Food was delicious and a generous portion. Would definitely return for the food. Glad to be there with a big group as the rest of the venue was empty. Would have improved the atmosphere, but it was the first week of Jan! Will be revisiting and hope to see the place a little more lively, would be a shame to lose this if not enough customers.
