The best shop in Brighton. Like Harrods, there is simply nothing you cannot find here. Unlike Harrods, the staff are knowledgable and helpful, and prices are always fair. Cannot recommend this institution enough
Been using them for a few years now and they are always friendly and helpful. I've bought paint to locks and had keys cut. Never over priced on anything and always have most things in-stock! I would definitely recommend them.
I love Ransoms. Staff friendly, prices food and right on the high street. Is this the only decent shop (just off) on the London Road?
Highly recommended. Fast efficient service from a knowledgeable and friendly hardware store. Prices are very fair and key cutting was super fast, onw of the best I've had when obtaining spare keys for along while. So cheap I couldn't belive it! Proper old school shop and service. Not even 40 but appreciate honest decent service which generally doesn't exist now adays. Guy at counter was taking time to help elderly (guessing local) customers with a query and nothing seemed to much. Again something you don't see much any more. I don't leave many good reviews but this shop deserves the 5* and I hope this encourages more trade!

Great , a Modern yet like the old style of hardware store it has everything! Spoke with the owner a very nice chap! And yes a Family owned store among whats left of the old main road into Brighton ! Friendly helpful staff,my Friend comes from Peacehaven just to buy any hardware he needs from here not any of the big stores but Here ,best service and I reckon it has everything in Stock ! Don't see it ? Just ask!!
THEY MIS SOLD ME A FAULTY PRODUCT, WHICH RESULTED IN THE PRODUCT BREAKING MY PHONE. When brought to the owners attention they offered no help or resolution and refused to take any responsibility. Instead blamed me. Not only do I have a broken phone, which now I’ll have to pay to be fixed. I am also out of pocket £10 because they didn’t even have the decency to offer me a refund. I was asked to bring the product back to the shop, for it to be inspected. Which I was more than happy to do, But was met with nothing but hostility and rudeness from the member of staff. Please be aware when purchasing from this shop and make sure you cover yourself. As they clearly have no intention in providing a good after sales customer service.
This hardware shop is a real gem, they have pretty much everything you could ever need for your home or DIY project and will always give you advice and help. We really need to support small independent shops like this before the big chains totally take over, its so wonderful to be able to pop around the corner to a small independent shop like this and get what you need rather than have to drive to a big out of town chain store. Please use it as we will regret it if we loose it!
