Needed some MDF cutting to size for a DIY bench seating project. G&S were first to respond; offered the best price in the area (after shopping around); and were able to meet my short deadline. A slight misunderstanding with the sizing was quickly rectified which added to the overall sense of great customer service. Highly recommended!

Stands somewhere between a trade centre and your usual high street supplier. Always helpful staff,and will cut up to suit rather than having to buy a whole 8 x 4 sheet of what you require. Staff offer advice, and walk you through the shop.
Tony and his team deliver a service second to none. I’m certainly no professional builder or craftsman, but Tony (manager) always takes his time to listen to my project requirements and coordinates my supplies either bang on budget and often under too. Always friendly, patient and approachable. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my timber in West Sussex.
Timber shop. So upset and disappointed. Very unhelpful staff member who said cutting machine is off and come back Monday. I had gone in really hoping for some help to rectify someone's poor carpentry skills on a cupboard that I had built. He said if I gave him the measurements they would cut it but could only cut square and not exactly!! They really weren't interested in helping!!
Please change your wood yard opening times on the site, just been in as a customer for 16 years to buy 3 pieces of wood and was told closing at 12 pm site states 1pm sat. I arrived at (11.50am) staff were rude and dismissive I was always happy to shop there and have had good service in the past very sad to say will think twice now. This also happened on wednesday afternoon as well.
This is a proper hardware store. Big enough to supply all my needs yet small enough to treat me like an individual. The best thing about this shop is the staff. Always happy to help and advise.
