A truly awful and traumatising experience... avoid at all costs. Even if this is the last practice accepting NHS patients, I would urge you to look elsewhere. My appointment with the male dentist was a catalogue of errors and disregard for patient care. I have a documented metal allergy, which I noted on my forms, yet he proceeded to use a metal filling. The entire procedure was agonising. Despite two injections, my tooth was not numb, and I felt the searing heat of the drill. When I tried to stop the procedure to explain I was in pain, the nurse argued with me and insisted the tooth was numb. Consequently, I had to endure another appointment to have the metal filling drilled out, which was once again performed without effective numbing. To make matters worse, one of the two fillings I received fell out just a week later, and I have been left with persistent pain. The practice has refused my request to see a different dentist to correct these mistakes, insisting I must see the same dentist for a third time. Their refusal to take responsibility and the painful, negligent treatment I received has been deeply distressing. It seems my experience isn't an isolated incident; after sharing what happened, I've discovered two other individuals who had almost identical issues with the very same dentist here.

I'm a mid 60's baby so all visits to the school dentist were terrifying. I also had to have a plate to straighten my teeth. I'm now 60 and have suffered with my anxiety of dentists for all that time. I registered with Hopton when I had a problem with my wisdom tooth. I saw Mark and was immediately put at ease. I had to have an emergency appointment today for a long ignored tooth problem that turned into a huge abscess. Today was the first time I felt at ease, even singing along to Ant Music on the radio while I numbed up. Mark is wonderful. I never thought I'd get over this phobia and although I'm not happy about having to go to the dentist, this Practice is amazing. All the staff are lovely and Receptionists deserve medals (I was a GP Receptionist, so all power to your elbows girls!)

I joined this dentist recently and the staff have been very friendly and helpful. Ollie and Charlotte carried out my dental work, Ollie was great at explaining what I needed done and my options. Charlotte was very good at being reassuring throughout my appointments. I just had Susan as a hygienist, who was also kind and reassuring about my dental health. No longer anxious before dentist appointments since attending this one, thank you.

I have been scared of the dentist for most of my life! I had one loose tooth, however when I went for my checkup with Amrit, I needed to have 5 teeth out, ( I hadn’t been to a dentist for over ten years!) I explained just how nervous I was about the dentist. Amrit was fantastic she got me back the next day early ,really put me at ease. I felt safe and trusted what Amrit told me. I laid back shut my eyes was spoken to all the way through. That was just a year ago. The hygienists are just the same kind and gentle and listen to you. My dentures are great, I had to see another dentist for a fitting. He was so supportive in helping me get on with them. Today I went for my third checkup, had two fillings! I sat in the chair with no nervousness at all. Thank you Amrit at 68 years old I have the confidence to sit in a dentist chair confidently with no fear!

Struck off after 19 years as I failed to attend a few appointments. All the good dentists have gone from this one, so wouldn't bother anyway, even If you are local. Cheryl was the one from the golden days but you now get fobbed off for £25 a go, don't even get a routine clean unless you ask for them... useless and quite happy to move on as I don't live so local, but wasn't even made aware I'd been struck off. Ha!

21st December, I had a bad toothache and was fortunate to get an emergency appointment with Mark, after a quick X-ray he found a cracked back tooth causing the problem as well as a couple of fillings needed on the lower side of my mouth, he expertly gave me the injections and in less than 10 minutes the fillings were done and the offending tooth removed, all I can say is thank you Mark, your dental skills are unbelievable and I even managed to keep my lunch appointment at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant in Mayfair the following day, soft Wagyu it was for me !! If you want a great dentist get yourself booked in at Hopton and definitely with Mark he’s the expert !!

After many years of regular checkups and work, covid hit, shortly after I had an abscess under my capped tooth, I was taking 2 ibuprofen 4 times a day for about 3 weeks, I had phoned Hopton dental surgery to make an appointment, the receptionist told me they would call me when they can see me and no need for me to phone back. After about 3 months or so I called them again to ask what was happening, the receptionist told me I was still on the list and they would get to me soon. More months went by and no phone call from Hopton dental surgery. I was getting very concerned about the health of my tooth as I had lost the cap and the root was exposed. I phoned Hopton dental surgery again but the receptionist didn’t want to see me. I took a photo of my tooth and went to another dentist to try and get it fixed but they couldn’t see me however they looked at the photo and told me that Hopton dental surgery must see me as this was an emergency. I went to Hopton dental surgery and knocked on the door, the receptionist came to the door and looked at the photo but wouldn’t show it to the dentist. We had a bit of an argument about the situation and I said they are being neglectful. I somehow managed to get one of the dentist at Hopton to phone me for and emergency appointment after finding out from one of my customers that Hopton dental surgery where seeing people for emergencies. I explained to the dentist what had happened and she agreed to see me, she had to extract the root and she was very nice about it, she didn’t charge me either, the receptionist on the other hand was arrogant and nasty, when I arrived for my appointment she came to the door to take my temperature but she hit me in the forehead with the temperature gun, I thought this might be an accident although she didn’t say a word to me, not hello or sorry not anything, she went on to spray antibacterial hand spray on my hands but half missed and sprayed over my jeans, it looked like I had wet myself, she finally let me in and still didn’t say a word only a stern miserable look on her face. A couple of years have passed and I have found a new dentist that will help me with my dental treatment and they have given me confidence in the dental practice again. Since my last visit to Hopton dental surgery I felt too humiliated to go back, I would rather all my teeth fell out than see that receptionist ever again. This is a true account although it’s missing some little bits(nothing good) and would have made it far to long a review.

I have only been with this practice since moving into the area 5 years ago. Mark is excellent. Always friendly, reassuring, efficient and listens to any concerns. From the lovely receptionist to the nurses, they are always polite and friendly. I have always received a response back promptly to messages. I am really happy with their services. And in this difficult times, I always feel safe, and am very grateful for their hard work and commitment to their clients. Thank you.
