I purchased this glorious bull today from Gander Vintage in Brighton. It’s made by Otto Gerharz Jr., Rheinbach, Germany and looks fabulous on my sideboard. Dan was so helpful, didn’t mind at all me spending ridiculously long deciding which bull to buy and was very knowledgeable. Thoroughly recommend the place.
We came by this wonderful shop quite by accident while visiting the Laines in Brighton with our dog Misty. We had been thinking about adding to our vintage collection of interiors and this shop was the perfect place We spent a long time browsing while Dan made a big fuss of our dog who was unduly invited to sit on the sofa! Dan was more than happy to share his wealth of knowledge and expertise. We bought a gorgeous Arne Jacobsen ice bucket which is taking pride of place in our bar area at home in Surrey. My favourite shop! We have had some truly lovely pieces from Gander Vintage. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable, and always so helpful. The Independent shops in the city are what makes Brighton so special, this is one of the best, and it’s in the coolest street. :)
This is my third time of visiting Dan at Gander, making the special trip to Brighton from West Dorset. Dan has been beyond helpful each time and has helped me broaden my knowledge on Scandinavian art glass & British studio pottery, even today lending me some literature to read and return at my own leisure. 3/3 times I have purchased items and been very happy with the service received and prices agreed. I wish all independent shops were like this.
I bought a large WGP vase at The Gander last year. This was my first piece of fat lava. Dan certainly sparked the interest. I now have 15+ pieces! Dan was a pleasure to chat to, very informative and helpful. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Brighton.
