Rooms were indifferent, we were unlucky with the bed but other rooms fine. Hotel staff all Wonderful and no problem to change to another room. Bar area is very comfortable and a nice place to spend time however the spa are I gave a miss.

Booked here for Sunday lunch with friends, we also had a puppy in training for guide dogs. I contacted the Diplomat and explained, they were happy for the puppy to accompany us. On our arrival we were met by staff who explained there would be a band playing and offered us the choice of a table in the main dining area or in the restaurant, which would be quieter. The food was beautiful and plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The whole experience was amazing. I can't thank the staff enough for being so accommodating and welcoming.

I just spent 4 nights at the hotel. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. I have stayed in 9 hotels in the last 3 years and the service from the Diplomat staff was the best. They took the time to take an interest in our tour party of 29 all of being of mature years.. . Nothing was too much trouble for them. Ben on reception in particular stood out. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. They even garnished the breakfast eggs with spring onions as an extra touch. I hope to stay there again at some point.

Booked for The New Years Eve Celebration and joined by two couples who were so impressed with the food and ambience of the hotel at a Tom Jones tribute night travelled from London to join us, booking into the hotel for the two night stay and free use of the spa. To say they were impressed would be an understatement, as they have already booked for the next night event in June, again for a two night stay. For my part, as a non-resident, the food (6 courses) was superb, the entertainment ( good D.J ) and band ( The Wurlitzer's) in combination with friendly attentive service made it an absolutely wonderful way to see in the New Year! Like so many local things, we sometimes may not appreciate the quality of what's available on our door step. Previously for me that has included "The Diplomat" this error will be corrected frequently in the future!!

One star as Google won’t allow me to rate this experience any lower. What a horrendous experience. The food was awful and cheap, the service was poor and the venue is grubby. My family and I went for a Christmas meal with entertainment, what we got was extremely poor. To begin with, the starters were wrong, and their GF option meant taking a bread roll off the plate leaving only a poor watery bowl of soup. The table we were seated next to was full of drunk, loud, older than middle aged people with no self respect. I saw more thongs and trousers coming down than I could ever stomach. Despite this very clearly obvious display, the management never intervened. The toilets were also dirty and without toilet roll, and the bar staff loading ice into a glass with their bare hand was enough to put anyone off their drink. £34 per person for a vile experience is shameful. Please do get in touch because I’d like a refund for the 7 people, who should have walked out as the starters were served.

Fabulous hotel! Stayed in a very spacious family room which had smart decor and the beds were extremely comfortable. Made use of the well equipped gym and spa facilities. Would highly recommend a massage treatment. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast. There was entertainment in the bar in the evening and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

We booked a spa -afternoon tea for 5.. The treatments were amazing we all agreed the products used were exceptional and those that had the massage couldn't fault it. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented but personally we like our scones warm ,they were a little stale but we ate them but everything else was well prepared and a lot to chose from. The reason they haven't got 5 stars is because the steam room was out of action and that was one of the reasons I wanted to go there but we are planning on going again and would want all facilities open or a discount. Staff were very friendly and polite . No separate changing cubicles in the ladies. Plenty of parking. We are going to buy vouchers for Christmas presents if they have them.

Having visited this Hotel more times than I can remember I am never disappointed. The Venue is very well located. It is peaceful and very well presented. Food is outstanding and staff very obliging. Isobelle our Poland Waiter was very kind and very engaging making sure all needs were met. Although the Diplomat was extremely busy staff were as always attentive. Well done everyone!
