Lovely staff, very personable and friendly, definitely a highlight of our stay. Beds were clean and comfortable and a lovely location. Breakfast was delicious.
Lovely and cozy place in perfect location! We felt at home here from the first moment. The owner is unbelievably friendly and welcoming and really makes you feel taken care of. His kindness alone made our stay special. This is not a perfectly polished, ultra-modern hotel. And that’s exactly why we loved it. The place is very cozy and has so much charm and character. You can feel that a lot of love and heart went into it. Everything was clean and well looked after, but what really stands out is the atmosphere. Staying here felt very personal and different from a typical hotel experience. A truly special place.
Just returned from a 2 night stay at the New Steine. Had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a great location. Within easy reach of many local shops and restaurants, 5 - 10 min walk. Only 15 minutes from Brighton city centre. Can park outside the hotel, payment is by parking app, Paybyphone The staff were all welcoming. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Great full breakfast was included in the price. Spoke to the owner, Herve; such a welcoming man and was happy to have little chats with the guests; something that does not happen at many hotels. He is proud of his hotel, and so he should be. I can see why it is AA 4 star rated. Have already booked for next August for the Bank Holiday Mod Weekend.
Such a lovely place near the pier area and quite close to the sea side. The check in was easy and the reception staff was very friendly and responsive to all my messages before and during my stay. We have also arranged a spot for the breakfast to be booked, as one of the mornings I was quite tight with my schedule. The room was quite well equipped although it was super small. There was a double bed, a closed wardrobe, some snacks, a boiler and even a heater, which was needed from time to time. Every day the towels were changed and the bed was set. Quite good cleaning as well. The breakfast was good and tasty for the price. Typical brealfast, which was prepared at the spot. Also cereals and free juice was available. Near the hotel, there are many mini markets, coffee places and some restaurants. Also plenty of bars in the area as well. The budget room was at the top floor, so it could be quite a challenge for people to walk with a luggage for around 3 floors and through a very narrow staircase.
We had a great time in Brighton. This little bed and breakfast was a real find. The staff were all friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and with lots of choice. The hotel was busy but we never had to wait long for service. The bedrooms are quite small but beautifully presented and cared for with tea/coffee facilities and a safe - no fridge. There was a good sized wardrobe, ensuite shower room with separate toilet and sink. Our room had a sea view which I enjoyed very much. There is a small table and a couple of chairs in the bay window making it easy to sit and look at the sea whilst enjoying a cuppa! The location couldn't have been much better. Depending how quickly you walk the pier and beach are only 10 minutes away, as are a multitude of coffee shops restaurants, local supermarkets, post office and much more. If you don't want to walk, a 5 minute stroll will bring you to local bus stops with buses to/from the train station, the marina and into the city and beyond. The owner/manager (apologies for not remembering your name, my fault entirely) greeted us on arrival and came to say goodbye when we left. He is clearly proud of his hotel and is right to be so. I would happily stay here again and am confident that anyone booking this hotel will be pleased with their choice. Congratulations to you all for the experience you offer your guests!
Nice B and B staff are lovely and very helpful . Only problems were no heating in the room and shower ran much too hot and we could not cool it down . Breakfast was good with a perfect poached egg.
Brighton is an amazing city, but unfortuntaley our whole experience was overshadowed by our stay in this pseudo hotel. The management was not so good from the very beginning as they contacted us a few days before our arrival to tell us they had to change our room to a smaller one and only when we requested to see pictures of the new room they told us another room of the same booked price was available again. (weird and confusing) They gave us the room in the ground floor right next to the stairs and lobby which was a nightmare. The rooms are not sound proof and we could hear everything happening outside... the lady receptionist receiving calls the whole day and speaking super loud, guests arriving past midnight with no respect for other guests, kids screaming at 6am, people cleaning the rooms next to ours, and of course everything the other guests in the rooms above us were doing. Zero privacy! We stayed with our dog as they are marked as "pet friendly". However, nothing in the hotel showed a real care for dogs. Not even water plates as many other shops or pubs in the city. The room we stayed was very dark, the only window it had was pointing to the horrible inner patio, no full body mirror, the toilet flush was broken and the coffee station was a joke. Just an electric kettle full of limescale. We went with the intention to have some rest and enjoy the lovely city, but we couldn't even sleep well. Our dog is trained and has experience staying in hotels and entering restaurants, but this time he had a very difficult and stressful time because of the noisy "hotel". I give 2 stars only because of the good location and the room was clean enough. But the whole experience was very disappointing.
I have been to many hotels for bed and breakfast but none that served up a quarter of a tomato with breakfast. The toast was just warmed bread and even the bread was soda bread. Very disappointed with the whole overnight stay. Was told conflicting things about parking and to cap it all, we ended up with a very hefty parking fine. Would not use this hotel again, I hope this review does get printed, but I doubt it.
Lovely clean hotel with great staff who are always on hand to help you. Special mention goes to Oscar who must be the Employee of the Year in Brighton. Not only does he cook a fantastic English breakfast, also he goes above and beyond to help guests in any way, Thank you Oscar
