   I had a very unpleasant and unacceptable experience at this hotel. One of the staff members opened my room door and entered without my permission, even after I clearly told him not to come in. At that moment, I was inside with my partner, and this was a serious violation of our privacy and dignity. Such behavior is completely unprofessional and shows a total lack of respect for guests’ personal space. We felt unsafe, disrespected, and deeply uncomfortable after this incident. I expected far better standards from a place that calls itself a hotel. Management needs to take this issue seriously and ensure that something like this never happens again.

   Quite basic as you would expect for the price, but very clean. All the staff were very friendly but you could have done with a third member of staff for the cafe at breakfast time, to oversee the arrival of guests and the levels of breakfast items. The cafe was likewise basic reminiscent of a canteen, but there was plenty of food available, though no option of type of egg, or milk nore muesli.

   Absolutely awful. The pictures look nothing like the rooms. The bed we had had broken springs, the hallway was a cooler temperature than our room, and there were drunk people being loud outside our room at all hours of the night. When we checked out a day early and told the staff member about the broken bed being the reason for us leaving. All she said was “sorry, yeah some of our mattress are old” not an offer to fix anything, did nothing to make it right,just a brush off. Renting to people when you know the beds are broken is un acceptable for a professional hotel. Do not come here!

   Do not recommend this hotel AT ALL. Room was so HOT and we were given a silly small fan that did nothing, couldn’t sleep all night, it was the worse stay in a hotel I have ever had. When we asked for another fan we were just told everyone is asking right now and there’s no others?!? Receptionist needs another job as she clearly shouldn’t work with people!, from her lack of help to her ridiculously uncalled for remarks. Rooms were dirty, floors were filthy and a lot of cosmetic touch ups to the room needs doing. The windows are so over looked, people can see right through, they need Venetians or some sort of privacy besides a blind as it stopped any air from coming in to the room, because we had to keep it down, just to have privacy. Breakfast was nothing to get excited over either not much choice and I’m sure my bacon was still alive. But lovely area to be in the heart of Brighton just shame on the actual hotel, staff, cleanliness, food and the fact it’s like sleeping in a sauna.

   Centrally located approx 10 mins walk to Brighton beach (at the upside-down house end). 15mins easy walk from station. Staff are very helpful, good breakfast choices. Really good room size, with plenty of space to move around the room. Comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom with shower only. No.14 brand Hair and Body Wash provided (one product does both). It's quite nice to use *** But no hair conditioner provided***, so may have to bring your own. Quiet, clean, tidy, basic room, no air-conditioning, however a fan was provided in room for hot days and windows opened. Good size fridge included, which was very handy. No ironing board or iron in room (but can be requested). Hairdryer, kettle, tea and coffee included. Really enjoyed 1 night stay.

   The room was over priced for what we paid (approx £90), noise from the street, noise from the corridors and not the most comfortable of beds. The breakfast left a lot to be desired - would not have eaten if it was not included in the price. The staff were fantastic though and the location ideal.

   I stayed in the hotel between Feb 2-4 2023. Overall it was a decent but not great stay. If I hadn’t been using Google Maps, I might have missed the hotel as it just has a small sign outside. The location is good, just a few minutes from the main shopping areas of the town. It’s approx a 10-15 minute from the train station. There are a number of buses running past the hotel that go to places like Hove. The bedroom was large and quite well equipped. The bed was comfortable but the metal bed frame squeaked with every movement. The desk chair was comfortable. The bathroom was small and didn’t provide a lot of storage for shaving gear, etc. It was also quite badly lit and wasn’t great fro shaving and probably worse for putting on makeup. My main issue with the hotel was the noise from the corridor. People walking by and talking could be heard quite clearly. The price was very reasonable and I would consider staying there again.

   First and foremost, although it doesn't mention it anywhere in any of the booking sites, this is student accommodation. Most of the people you'll see in there are students, which in hindsight, I probably should have guessed from the name. After I'd persuaded the very friendly reception staff to give me an alternative room because the mattress was ridiculously creaky and the TV didn't work, we settled into our new room. There were still some issues. A grubby pillow, no air conditioning, cold because the heater didn't work and the TV being positioned so you could barely watch it from the bed. The rooms are noisy with the sounds of partying students, as you'd expect if you realised you were basically staying in a halls of residence. None of this is a massive issue when you're staying there between Sunday and Friday where the price is a perfectly reasonable 60 to 70 pounds. For a Saturday night, charging 140 is daylight robbery. Once you've factored in that the hotel doesn't have parking facilities so you're paying an extra 28 pounds on top of the room rate, the cost is bordering on the ridiculous. You're paying the same price for a student's room that you would pay to stay in a proper hotel. It's absolutely scandalous. In summary if you're a student or you want to stay somewhere in central Brighton cheaply during the week, it's an acceptable choice. If you're over 25 and you're staying on a weekend, you'd get better value booking The Grand.

   Pretty average to be honest, good location and rooms were clean but not much spark to the hotel. Cafe was out of order so we were offered a cold breakfast in a bag brought to our room. We declined but saw others outside their rooms and just looks like you get a piece of fruit and a small croissant. Staff member was friendly on reception. It was just a place to lay our head so did the job

   Britannia Study Hotel is the better kind of budget hotel. Don’t expect anything too fancy, but what they do offer is great value for money. The location is great. Rooms are spacious and have a desk to work on. Beds are comfortable, even if a tad short for a tall person. A decent breakfast is included, and the rooms even feature a small fridge. My main gripe is that both times I tried to shower it took a solid 5 minutes before the temperature would become anywhere near acceptable and even then it would only very slowly become hotter. If not for this issue, I would have probably given 5 stars.
