Clean and simple budget hotel. Close to city centre with parking available. Really friendly staff on arrival.

I been staying at this hotel for years when I visit Norwich and I have nothing bad to say, the staff are amazing and very helpful thumbs up

Basic small room. Could do with attention but overall clean. Bed comfy. TV in room. Shower decent. Negatives would be curtains were hanging off some hooks so made it look a bit tacky but this place has a what it is. I guess I would recommend to workers looking for longer term accommodation or 1 night stop overs. It's on a busy road but tbf this didn't cause any issues with sleep.

Interesting place. Rooms are smaller than normal double. The double bed is on the small side but at least it's not 2 singles pushed together. Our double room had a mini kitchen and fridge, microwave and few pots. The shower was good and bathroom was OK size. Asked for extra towels and iron and board, all supplied with ease. This is 2 star place , not hotel, as no food served here. Seemed clean but on inspection it wasn't spotless. Creaky bed and some furnishing scuffed or broken. TV had literally no signal and kept cutting out. Decent car park, which was free for residents. Staff were polite and helpful. This place would ok for one night stay and cheap for Norwich. If you don't mind the sound of water next door or the occasional creaky floors, this is good place. A nice touch is keeping family rooms in another hotel across the garden. Hence no noise from kids in the night or morning which you get in the likes of Premier Inns and other hotels. Good budget place to stay!

I was very happy here and would happily stay here again. I want to say it no longer deserves the awful reviews it's had in the past. The Plantation Garden next door is gorgeous. The location is convenient, the setting is lovely and the staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and well-provisioned. In response to negative comments in the past, it depends what bothers you: - my room faced a car park directly so I had to keep the blinds closed and lights on until dressed (net curtains would help with this - there is a security light right outside the window so the room wasn't really dark - the blinds left small gaps which I covered with my coat and a towel (or passers by might have been able to see in (fuller curtains would help) - the bathroom smelled a little odd but this was not for want of cleanliness; maybe due to small enclosed space or drainage system -the keys were tricky and I had to ask staff for help

A nice comfortable stay, staff welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. Even the two chaps decorating (see pictures) one of which I believe was a manager were friendly and helpful with good banter.

Proper facilities to be able to prepare quick food in your room. Perfect for people who are working from home. No need to go to expensive restaurants, plates and cutlery provided, convenient for shops. Double glazed windows but suprised at the noise from the main road. Room bins could empty more often.

My room was like coffin. This was Cathedral Hotel back then. They changed name but I doubt it changed that most of the rooms doesn't have window. Also a lot of junkies live there on permanent basis. One of them overdosed and died in that hotel. Stay away!

We recently stayed with the hotel the other week and when we first arrived to pick up the keys, we had someone drop us off and 'stop', not park, for less than 15 minutes. The driver remained in the driving seat the whole time with the engine running. When we asked the front desk do we need to write down the registration plate of the car waiting, we were told that it only charged people who stayed over night so there's no point, even after double checking, the receptionist said there's no point. After trying to contact the hotel to rectify this, the hotel has ignored all messages. So avoid this place if you don't want them to try and win extra money from you for just turning up

This was my first visit and it won't be my last. Was made to feel so welcome and was immediately upgraded (without asking) because a bigger room was available. Recently refurbished, the room was sparkling clean and airy. A little bit noisy when others arrived (I was in the front room) so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper but the location is perfect for Norwich. I was first in to the Plantation Gardens next door which is absolutely beautiful in its tranquility and the Catholic Cathedral is a few doors down. Both well worth a visit.
