I enjoyed a great 7 months staying at the Abbey Monday to Fridays whilst working in Norfolk. Issues would arise periodically mainly because of inconsiderate guests but Kelly and Tracey always swiftly responded to feedback and dealt with situations swiftly and decisively. The accommodation is in wonderful surroundings close to the gorgeous Norfolk countryside and plenty of pubs, restaurants and takeaways all in easy walking distance. Would recommend for fellow business travellers unreservedly.
Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and unsafe. When I arrived, the property was not properly cleaned. During my stay, a tile in the shower came loose, which was both a safety hazard and completely unacceptable. I immediately reported this issue to the property, but my complaint was ignored, and no assistance or follow-up was provided. Due to the lack of response from the property, I escalated the issue through Booking.com. However, I have been informed that because the property continues to ignore communication, I am unable to receive the refund I am entitled to. This entire situation has been frustrating and stressful. I strongly advise other travelers to avoid this property at all costs. The lack of cleanliness, safety concerns, and complete disregard for guests’ concerns are unacceptable.
Great place for a stay, lady on reception was so friendly and helpful, we couldnt want for more assistance. Room was perfect for our needs. Only 4 parking spaces and road parking only available after 6pm. We were lucky to get one of the 4 spaces so that was helpful for us.
Stayed here for a number of months whilst working away. Absolutely perfect for anyone who happens to be working in the area, close to local amenities and the rooms themselves felt like a home away from home. Always absolutely immaculate, and would recommend to anyone staying in Norfolk.
Room was not clean. It was shabby and worn. Kitchen utensils were dirty. Noisy until 1am as visitors were meeting and shouting in lobby and hallways.
lovely quiet hotel . slept like log . everything you need is in the room to prepare food. cooker hob microwave and fridge .and the staff are brilliant . book direct with the hotel for the best price and cut the internet room sellers who typically stick £ 25 on the price out . highly recomended
Arrival was easy although there was no parking available we were able to park easily and for free in the nearby Market Place car park. Getting the keys and checking in was also easy and the room was clean and the room a good rate. There were however a few negatives, hence the three star review: 1) unfortunately the room was very hot with no way of cooling it down (we stayed in Norwich Cathedral which we found out on arrival was on the top floor of the property); 2) the vent in the bathroom was not working which made the whole place steam up and 3) the fixtures & fittings in the common areas, the bedroom and the shower room looked tired/worn and in need of repair or replacement.
On arrival we were able to get one of the parking spaces. Collecting the keys to our room was super easy and we'll explained in the email we received prior to arrival. Our room was spacious, clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, a nice area to sit and eat, bath robes and slippers were also available in the room. The in room tablet was a fantastic touch and not only gave instructions on how to use the facilities but also information on the local area. The only reason we haven't given 5 stars is because our room was very hot. Although a fan was provided, it didn't go very far in cooling the room, AC would have been more ideal. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you Number 10 The Abbey.
