   ...what a lovely historical premises, with lovely Tracey at the helm to greet you the whole experience staying @Sherborne House is flawless, she handed over the key on arrival and that was it, simple....both the room and hotel are well lit, airy and clean, bed and pillows are super comfy, just what I wanted after a family fun filled day...have already booked for next year...excited to return :))

   Awful, low quality hotel. If you appreciate design, beauty and quality, avoid. - The large receptionist with dirty hair was rather a long way from what might be described as welcoming (although NB: mea culpa, we were almost an hour late arriving, for which we earnestly apologised, to little apparent effect) and her attitude did give us some initial cause for concern. - The tired and dirty looking carpets also gave us cause for dismay, only made more worrisome by the discovery of wobbly twin beds in our worn out room. - Be warned, as well: the location of the hotel on a busy road means that having any fresh air (after fiddling about with the difficult to open sash windows) is fine, as long as you didn’t mind the LOUD noise of passing traffic. - But the worst part of this ghastly experience was the shower (an over the bath type, in a generally poor condition bathroom) which was broken and stuck on HOT (and I loathe hot showers). The following morning we expressed our disatisfaction to the (same) receptionist, who offered us a £50 rebate; however, when I asked for it to be processed prior to our departure, this proved to have been unduly optimistic on her part, as the owner, a Mr Gez Chatal, engaged on an ‘important business trip to India with many meetings’ refused to sanction it. I would strongly advise anyone considering this dump as an accommodation option to look elsewhere.

   I booked this property last minute on Friday 30th April at 8pm in the evening for my mother, who needed a place to stay as her partner was critically hospitalised whilst they were on holiday. The room was booked for 2nd - 4th May and the price was £300. The very next morning on 1st May before midday, I contacted the property to explain the hospital would let my mother stay on site so I no longer needed the hotel room and kindly request a partial refund. The receptionist was understanding of the issue but said only the owner could grant a refund. After weeks of chasing, the owner finally responded and refused to provide any refund, or even allow me to move the booking to another day. Given I tried to cancel the booking within a couple business hours of booking (I.e. my booking hadn’t prevented anyone else from booking the room or caused for the incurrence of any costs at the hotel), especially in light of the reason for the booking in the first place (which I’d explained in the original booking through booking.com), I found the owners refusal for any type of goodwill cruel and unjust (regardless of the zero cancellation policy). I could not understand the justification for keeping the full £300.

   When we arrived, first impressions was it was a lovely place decorated beautifully for Christmas. The receptionist was fantastic and friendly from the beginning and nothing was too much for her. When we got to our room we were overwhelmed it was beautiful, clean, the bed was so comfortable and the little touches were perfect. The morning breakfast was perfect and the fact you could adjust what you wanted on your breakfast gave it the finishing touches. I would say the overall quality of this place is a luxury hotel and would recommend anyone staying here and most definitely worth every penny that we paid and will definitely be going back there. 5* on every single aspect of our stay.

   Rm 13. Excellently decorated large double room with King size bed and bathroom with a bath/shower. Friendly staff. Good onsite car parking. Fast Wi-Fi. Didn't need breakfast so can't comment. Would be useful to have an EV charging point, even if chargeable. Otherwise, couldn't fault it. .

   Stayed here after my son's wedding reception. The staff were polite, helpful, friendly and really accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were lovely. Clean, fluffy towels and beautifully soft, yet crisp, bed linen. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was large, clean and well appointed. Breakfast is cooked to order and was delicious. Highly recommended!

   Very friendly warm and welcoming staff. Exactly what you want for a small family run hotel. Really lovely room, bed (mattress and linens) and furnishings equivalent to a 5* hotel. So you wake up highly refreshed. Breakfast was top of the range in lovely dining room. Highly recommended.
