Woow the most expensive egg on toast i had £8, plus £3 for a tea which is reasonable. I assumed, it will be much cheaper than in South, but it was the most expensive one. The toast was burnt.

Never have felt so unwelcome in a cafe in my life. Extremely disappointed. Especially due to the positive feedback I have heard from other people, but one of the worst cafes I’ve been in due to the unfriendly nature of the staff who I overhead was called Diana. I thought I would take my younger cousin for some food after the markets and we wanted to sit in, I probably didn’t make this so clear to the younger girls at the front. However when Diana came to bring my food, she said it’s take out and I said yes but I would like to sit in and eat and she then repeated herself numerous times that it’s takeout even though there was plenty of tables to sit at and was looking and speaking at me as if I was a bottom class citizen. What made me laugh was that other adults that entered she made them feel very welcome, telling them to sit possibly thinking I was a lot younger than I was as I was with my cousin who is young but giving me a look that I wasn’t welcome. After telling her multiple times I was sitting in, she did not say to me would you like a plate, cutlery, napkins. Just threw my tinfoiled wrapped soggy oatcake that was overpriced on the table and walked off. Bad food and rude. The woman had a load of young girls working for her that was running the cafe on their own with no support from her whilst she was no where to be seen until she decided to show up and throw my food down on the table. Will never be coming in here again, I felt embarrassed at the way I was treated and would say to people unless you look like an adult (I am 25 years of age but look younger) then stay away. Clearly a control freak who speaks and treats younger people like they don’t matter, disgusting. Big believer on who serves your food should have good energy and be kind at heart, could tell from her and the food that this is NOT the place you want to be eating in. Only reason I’m even giving a 2 star is due to the fact I felt sorry for the girls at the front who was doing an amazing job!

Our favourite café, stop for lunch if ever we're in Leek. Lovely food, great coffee and a great range of cakes. Staff are polite and friendly, would highly recommend.

Avoid unless you like awful quality microwaved cheap food. Never had such a bad breakfast. Hash browns must have been browner than David Dickinson! Eggs hard and slimey. The only benefit of us being there was to warn the lovely family on the table opposite.

Only 3 stars as we had to wait a long time for our food ( no one else in there ordering and people already eating their food) There is no heating and it could benefit from some ambiente music. The food (2 full English breakfasts and 1 poached eggs on toast) was excellent though.

Lunchtime light meal for 2 adults was tasty and served quickly. Their tray bakes are yummy so bought some to take home. Cold day. Small heater just about adequate.

Not impressed I'm afraid. I ordered a cake & drink of cola, to consume in the cafe area, plus two cakes to take home. I paid for everything but wasn't given a receipt. I sat at a table & waited for my order. The table was cluttered with dirty crockery, crumbs, suger & what looked like milky coffee - I hastened to add that the only other tables available were in a similar state. The floor under every table was filthy - ended up with slippery food on the soles of my shoes !!. I started to think I had made a big mistake in coming into the cafe ! I don't like to pick my way through bits of food that should have been cleaned up as soon as the tables occupants had left the table. The final frustration was that my cake order hadn't been boxed up & the two young women behind the counter had brief 'words', one clearly recalling my paid for order & the other not recalling a word of the conversation the three of us had had 15 minutes before. I didn't have a receipt to show the fair haired girl my proof of purchase. These girls need supervision & a clear brief of what is expected of them when in work. Both were quite pleasant but communication between them needs work, as well as a reminder about hygiene & health & safety. However, can I say, the cakes & flapjack were delicious.

One of the best cafes I've been to only ordered food to takeout so far but with the many choices of tray bakes, scones and savoury bits on offer I will definitely be sitting in on my next visit.
