Visited Sunday and pre booked a table for 4 x high tea. Lovely location. Seated very quickly and ordered the food. Food was amazing and it had a good buzz about the place. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Staff were amazing and looked after us all. Highly recommend

Lovely place to go with the Cauldon canal and the river Churnet by it . We booked a table as it’s Mother’s Day weekend. Very busy . We had a set time to be there and leave . The problem was you had to queue to be served which took forever. Then we were clock watching and encouraging our children to eat up . The food was delicious and nice to be able to have a variety of foods plus afternoon tea . The cakes looked define . Cant believe how many different flavours of scones to choose from , apple, cherry , raspberry were just a few . There was a car park and an overflow both were full .There is outside seating and shelters . Dogs welcome . I would definitely go back but maybe not on a special weekend . Definitely worth booking before hand . Toilets are across the road not on the premises.

We held my friends baby shower at hettys today and they kindly let us have the upstairs room and served us high tea. It was such a beautiful room and we felt very special. The food was amazing and the scones were out of this world.

Visited here the other week for afternoon tea, and I can honestly say it is the best one. I've had fabulous food, fantastic attentive staff, and a lovely atmosphere beautifully decorated on the Alice in wonderland theme and lovely area it's situated at only downside is its a bit off the beaten track but we found it, one of our party couldn't attend so they made up a lovely tray of the food like we had for them would highly recommend to all.

Lovely tea shop excellent breakfast, cream teas & meals. Easy parking covered areas & outside dog friendly (would be even better if they allowed well behaved dogs inside). Great shaded canal walks from cafe, lots of wildlife & unspoilt. Could be a lovely easy walk from Kingsley & Froghall Railway Station, Churnet Valley Railway

Wonderful breakfast today at Hettys Tea Shop, location was nice we sat outside by the canal as dogs are not allowed inside. I had oatcakes which were amazing. Just was a shame that outside they serve your food in bags not plates. Lots of free parking and your can combined a visit to Hettys with a walk along the canal. Would have scored it a 5 but none of the staff knew how to smile and having food in paper bags and trays wasn’t great. Would come again for the location and great food.

Pre-booked afternoon tea in the dome for two. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. The food was lovely especially the home-made bits but the few store bought bits let it down when compared with the excellent home made bits but it was lovely to have so much choice. We'd definitely go here again but just for normal lunch dinner etc as although the experience was lovely the afternoon tea seems a little expensive for what you get when compared with other places we've visited but this is in no way a complaint as we really enjoyed it all I just think the rest of the menu seems more value for money as this was £42 for two people.
